Well I've come to see peter right in principle, you just give the dude his shot. Vitali can fight some warm up fight and then take on the winner between peter/maskaev, and I'm not so quick to rule out maskaev in that bout because I think he has a decent chance against peter cause he can be one tough mofo.

One way or the other, I think Peter will get his shot. I'm kinda glad to hear he didn't take the money, although he probably should have. At least then he would've gotten paid to get screwed ;)

Rappaport manages Maskaev? Had no clue that twit was still in boxing. I hope Peter takes his ass but I don't want part of his prime to be sent in the courtroom a la David Ibeabuchi and Ike Tua.

The WBC says that it can only bypass a mandatory challenge for a chance at unification or to allow a legendary fighter to make a splash return.

Peter deserves his shot, my stance wont change on this....Peter is completely in the right. He beat Toney again, Vitali should just wait a bout.

I think Vitali should have to work his way back up with no splash fights for the title.
Peter had worked hard, he impressed me on how much he's improved in the James Toney rematch. He's shortened his punches instead of throwing them too wide all the time, and he has a jab in progress. Better yet he doesn't sell himself short. I agree that Vitali is no legend, he's not hall of fame material either, more than anyone Peter deserves good a fair shake.

Vitali would beat Peter if they fought,Peter couldn't beat Wladimir and that was with 3 knockdowns in the fight and Vitali would not be knocked down even once if they fought.Vitali also punches much more acurately than Peter does and throws straighter punches.I don't see how Peter could win a decision over Vitali.
And as far as Vitali taking a tune up bout, I would love to hear what boxer in their right mind would bypass this opportunuty to take a tuneup fight instead?Everybody knew that Vitali would get an imediate shot at the title holder if he came back, well he is back and he is playing by the rules!

He could have said he wanted to come back when maskaev won in December or whenever it was. He waited until Peter won and then saw that his brother wasn't going to be able to bypass Peter to say he's coming back. That is extremely transparent, not to mention cheap, dirty, etc.........
The klits don't want no part of Peter and that's the real reason they want their opportunity to both win their titles and realize their dream because once Peter gets the title, they know their chances are slim to none. What fights of his do you think Wlad watched before he fought Lamon Brewster??? Cuz he sure as hell forgot to look over the Ross Purrity tape ::** Your basically trying to say he can't tell you Peter improved because he beat Toney... Well, many thought Wlad had improved when he beat Peter, but of course that must not be the case either ??? You saying Peter hasn't improved is just dumb and biased as hell.. Im sure Wlad will perform better if they fight again... Because he will absolutely need to in order to win. Peter has gotten a lot better.

Peter did not improve enough to beat Wladimir, just because he beat Toney!Peter did not get a lot better in one fight, that is absurd.He looked better because it was the second time he faced the same opponent!Wladimr improved as well by beating Chris Byrd and Calvin Brock.Wladimr beats him again if they fight because he is the more intelligent fighter.
