Boxingtalk has been informed that future hall of famer James "Lights-Out" Toney could be fighting twice more in 2007. If all goes according to plans, Toney will return against former WBO heavyweight champion Sergei Liakhovich sometime this summer. Toney-Liakhovich would serve as a prelude to a rematch of 2003's fight of the year between Toney and former cruiserweight king Vassiliy Jirov

Don't really see how Toney vs Lyakovich is sure to be a battle... It could be, but if you base each guy on their last performance it hardly looks that way... I don't know what Lyakovich was thinking when he fought Briggs, coming in so flabby with tits... He's not James Toney, he won't be a contender if he can't even get in shape.. Only James can rock DD's and still fight at a semi reasonable pace. Hope Sergei trains hard for this fight, and as for Toney... Who the hell knows what he'll do.

Ok mr. Negativity ;), anyways from what I've seen Toney fights are the only ones where more than 10 punches are thrown a round.

If this is the way Toney plans on finishing the year, then Ive no complaints. These are two opponents he can beat and Its the best option after being beaten by Peter. Stay busy and hopefully continue with his fitness...

He is also fighting the first person to cut him in line at Baskin Robbins :D

Why is Toney fighting all these lesser important fights? He promised that he would go for the best and clean out the entire division within months. When you are running scared of Wlad. then you will not be able to clean anything out other than your self

Exactly, its the final chance for either to get back into any picture. Im intrigued as to how motivated Toney could possibly be...

I think Toney will be deflated after all the work he put in getting into shape (sorta) and he lost even worse the first time. If he stuck to it with Blanks and shed some pounds he might become a threat. I just don't believe he will.
