right folks i had broken ankles when i was baby and they still hurt even now quite bad doctor told me years ago might have to have operation on it when im 18 so just asking do you think i should have operation when im 18 which is about 6 months away but im afraid there mess my feet up even more just need some advice on what i should do thanks
Ouch! I'm assuming you've seen a podiatrist or two? What exactly did they say it was? I can't help you much but I will say I've noticed amongst the podiatrists in my city there's a huge range of podiatrists and some are not as good as others. I have known some podiatrists to make incorrect orthodics and I'd never go back.
The best in my city seem to be at a sports medicine clinic which is also employed to treat whole high profile football teams. Makes sense since if they stuff up they loose more than just one customer and their immediate family but a lucrative contract and a lot more customers.
Maybe get a few second opinions from various podiatrists if you are worried. Perhaps some of them might even be able to refer you to others who've had similar surgery who can talk about their experiences with you?
It's not my forte, you should talk to a few podiatrist, you can email them, call some of them up and get answers. You always get a second opinion. This is going with what Sharla said maybe you should talk to people who've been there.
Go see your doctor who will send you to a specialist!! If you don't like what they say ask for a second opinion. They're experts for a reason. I'm sure they'll tell you the pros and cons of the situation. :)
