Re: Ouch Arm Out Of Socket Help
type in "dislocated shoulder" on google that will get into details. It never happened to me but I've had friend who plays Hockey, and assistant coach just popped it back in. That must feel wierd dude, if there's anything then I'd take it easy, just in case you did something more to your shoulder.
How's it feel, is it tensed? Can you relax it? If you feel any pain, or soreness just take it easy.
Re: Ouch Arm Out Of Socket Help
Also how's your range of motion, can you move it around, raise it up, punch, or touch your shoulderblades?
Re: Ouch Arm Out Of Socket Help
Don't move it. Go to the hospital and get it checked out asap. Just in case the artery or nerves are damaged. :)
Re: Ouch Arm Out Of Socket Help
md You sound kinda like my mom...lol
just playin
well today it feels a little worse i can throw a punch in slow mo but havent tried actually throwing a punch
i can move it back a little bit i can raise it but it hurts and i can bring it as far across my chest that i can with my right but it hurts.
deffinantly no shoulder blade touching lol
thank you
so im guessing bag work it out of question
how long does it need to heal??
and will it continue to pop out later in life if i mess up a punch again???

I'd say listen to your mother, and md. ;)

good man, i had the same problem exactly.. except i got mine from missing wild hooks.. eventually effected both shoulders.. didnt check it out and became recurring and im now waiting for physio..
Hasnt stopped me but definately good to be careful, keep the shots strait while i been healing and try make sure it doesnt keep happening so the muscles and joints heal
Re: Ouch Arm Out Of Socket Help
Seeing as this post was bumped from 1 & 1/2 years ago, I'm going to go out on a limb and make the assumption his injury has since healed. :p

Yea, these are the sorts of injuries that worry me...as in, I fear getting. Anything that could end up being reoccuring.
I've never been hurt in or round the ring, but have had my worst and likely most dangerous injuries on my BMX. Not long ago, was riding home...pumping full speed going around a corner and my chain snapped. Sent me ass over tea kettle, and hands first into the pavement. Thought I broke my wrist. Didn't, but jammed it up pretty good and was useless for a little bit as far as hitting a bag or sparring.
Dislocations, as I understand, are quite likely to pose future and recurring problems, stretching or worse yet tearing ligaments or tendons.
