The REAL reason why Warren wont Make Calzaghe Vs Kessler in July!
To me it's obvious. Frank Warren is a money making machine and is looking to put on the biggest boxing undercards people will pay to see against S*** opposition to keep his fighters records intact. Think about it, Warren only puts on about 4 or 5 televised cards a year (if not less) on ITV. That's F*** all for a boxing promoter really.
A fighter like Enzo Maccranelli should've been headlining his own card 2 or 3 fights ago yet he's guaranteed to be propping up a Calzaghe card unless Joe pulls out injured! Warren in turn can put more spin on a 'Welsh boxing show' to make the fans travel up from Swansea and perhaps further afield thus making his fighters look more popular with a sell out crowd. Amir Khan appears on every ITV boxing show and adds support to the line up and boxing supporters aswell as the casual fan will tune in to see his progress.
All it boils down to is that Warren has a date pencilled in for July that ties in with all his other 'big name' fighters. It's a cheap and easy way of making more money and claiming the big fighters wont fight his men when they refuse to fight on a date he is dictating!

Why not simply agree a date in September? A mutually agreed frame of time with plenty of time to get organised on both sides?

i thought ti sounded a bit soon as well,
They are still fresh in the states now so a fast fight would keep the interest alive...
Joe is going on 36, does almost no sparring so keeping him fighting soon would benefit him rather than long lay offs (also gets a name like kessler out of the way for a match with hopkins or what not after the winky fight...)
Neither fighter has sustained anything that needs them to have a lay off, so really, there is no reason why they can't meet in July?

it makes sense...it wasn't like Joe C or Kessler are coming off WARS in the ring....3 months should be plenty of time for either....and it's less time for Joe C's hands to get injured.....

Oh and lets not forget the WBO will be forcing calzaghe to make a mandatory some time soon, so waiting to long could throw fights like kessler or taylor out of the window with Joe havent to face some crap mandatory fight...

it's crap like this that makes boxing drop in ratings....when the best don't fight the best....I know the UFC is subpar but at least they do their best to pit the two best subpar fighters against each other :)

I thought the real reason was Kessler bottled it, no? FW offered them the fight in July and they turned it down.
If Kessler (Mogens Palle) wanted Calzaghe so bad why would they turn it down when the oppotunity was there?
