Me personally i would never take a fight unless im 100 percent physically and mentally so i would say no.
Re: What would you do in my situation???
I'd still take the fight.
Re: What would you do in my situation???
yea.. lol
when preparing for the show las fri i didnt drink for 2 month and was training near enuff every day, now i have had like 6 days off and drunk for 2 of them and drinkin tonite lol
this is really eatin away at me... doin my head in
Re: What would you do in my situation???
I'd take it...your first fight is really just for experience...no one expects you to look spectacular, and your not gonna get out of shape in 6 days.
Re: What would you do in my situation???
joe calzaghe is apparently gona b there as well
Re: What would you do in my situation???
Personally, I wouldn't take the fight. If I wasn't on a down phase of my training, it would be a different story, but you're currently on a down phase and really don't have enough time to crank the tempo back up high enough to be at your 'A' game for this fight.
If you can find some tape on the guy you'd be fighting and he's a total weed and you're really confident that you can take him, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise, I'd gear up for the next one after this one. I'm worried that you'd be risking injuring a muscle or something or just plain having a bad fight by going for this one so soon.
Re: What would you do in my situation???
Simply if you act like a mug you will fight like one, dont go.
Re: What would you do in my situation???
No way should you take this fight
9 for 10 a fighter who takes a fight at the last minute loses.
You dont have time to study tape on the guy,you dont have time to shift your training for him.And most importantly your supposed to be peaking in your training not trying to force yourself off of your down cycle in less then a week.
Re: What would you do in my situation???
How many times does a guy find tape of another fighter on his 1st fight? One week off is not gonna offset all of the training that you have already done. You also are only going what four rounds?

If the guys fought even amateur fights, trust me theres tape on him. When we were looking at my my girls first potential opponent a while back, she was scheduled to fight a girl who had had only one pro fight, and lost.
Still was able to find footage on her
Re: What would you do in my situation???
i just went on a run and was fine ive only had a few days off of hard training and i do feel good, i have had 3 fights cancelled and this 1 is in my home town
the more i think about it the more im thinkin im gona knock him out
Re: What would you do in my situation???
I told you man... if you got doubts then you shouldn't be fighting... ;)
