Did Sergio Mora have a point?
We all know that Sergio Mora turned down the offer to fight Taylor.
What bothers me is that people don't know all the facts.
DiBully said he would find a place in California or Vegas.
Sergio has the bigger name if DiBully was coming to that agreement, right? Of course.
I don't care if Taylor is the champ. Sergio is the bigger draw.
Dibully never found anything and he probably never bothered to look.
At the very last minute he said there has been a change of plans and Memphis is the only place we could find ???
The agreement was California or Vegas.
Sergio felt he could not get a fair shake in Memphis and he was probably very correct.
Did Winky get a fair shake in Memphis? Depends on who you ask. I think not.
The picture could not have been painted any more clearer than it was on April 7th.
Bravery comes in many disguises. Saying NO to DiBully was a brave and bold move.
DiBully and Taylor are still having a hard time whipping the embarassment off their faces.
Stood up by the Contender because the kid understands the business a little more than Dibully thought.
DiBully also reneged on the money he was promising Mora.
I personaly don't blame Mora one bit for passing.
I want to see him earn his shot and get a fair shake.
Manfredo was a tool and he got played. He did not deserve that title shot and they ripped the gift out of his hands before he could even shake the box.

I agree with the fact he won't get a fair shake in Memphis but then again does it matter???...Not like he is going to beat Taylor anywhere they fight.....Just take the title shot no matter where it is and fade off into the sunset....

Personally i believe manfredo took the opportunity to fight calzaghe because he knew that this may be his only chance at a belt. So i gotta give peter the credit there. He took the fight, along with his biggest payday, and fought one of the best fighters the weight division has to offer, In Whales.
Sergio mora on the other hand wined about where to fight, and declined the fight, hopefully he never gets the chance to fight for that belt again. Fighters Fight, I know alot of guys in the bizz that would bury their grandmothers for a shot like that. Call it buisness knowledge if you want, but now sergio has no title shot, and Jermaine taylor will still find an opponent that will rake in the same cash sergio mora would of brought to the table.
What a waste, if you ask me

Im sorry i like some of your points, but Mora a bigger draw than Taylor?? I think there bank balances will clear that up, hasnt Taylor been on HBO PPV two or three times??? Also non PPV say ten times?? Against world class opponents?? If these two guys met id guarantee Tyalor gets says 75/80% of whats on offer, so how can mora be the bigger draw??

Im unsure about the situation myself.. At first i wasnt greatly fussed since i struggle to imagine the fight bieng entertaining..But then when jermain signed to fight spinks.. i kinda wished he had sorted the mora fight because lord knows spinks isnt the most entertaining fighter..
but i do have a fair bit of interest in the fight now..It will be quite interesting to see what mora has to offer in the middleweight division.. He has the name and the skill..But not stepped up and not much in the way of big punches..
I feel he will get treated unfairly if he does come out as a top fighter due to his lack of power..
Much like malignaggi.. I think real boxers who dont mind going the distance to win a fight are rare these days and should have more respect for the fact that they do what they do and are successful and winning by doing it..And thats what matters ..The Winning!

Sergio is not a bigger draw because hes on cable tv beating a bunch of never-will-be's. What's he worried about the judges scoring the fight fairly for, he's gonna get knocked out and its hard to argue that you won when you're unconscious. ;D

Sergio did the right thing. He hasn't fought in 9 months, DiBella jerked him around by trying to screw him over just before they were supposed to sign the contracts. He changed the venue, and the money on him at the last minute.
Sergio needs more fights before he takes on Taylor anyways. He only has 19 pro-fights, and he hasn't fought a 12 round fight yet. Smart move if you ask me, he'll earn his way just like everyone else.
