Started his pro career earlier than 25 how good would have he been? I saw his fight against Rivera and he was very impressive, good power, good speed, and I've never seen a southpaw use the shoulder ala Floyd or Toney, and be successful because of the left hook, but he was. In fact he reminds alot of younger Toney, but he doesn't weave or duck as much.
For 1 of the few times ever,I agree with you. Simms is slick,quck,a southpaw with power= NIGHTMARE for anyone! I think he beats most at 154 if not all. I mean I favoured Rivera heavily,Simms had not fought for like 2 years right?! And he ANNIHILATED the tough rugged Rivera!
People have doubted me? Bah ;) I would have liked to see him fight Winky, Mosley or ODLH back in the day, but they all ducked him or fought opponents with more credentials. Unlike Margarito this guy is the real deal IMO.
No doubt Simms is talented & the way he looked after a 2 year layoff... awesome.
Only thing for me is he's now 35, he should be trying to get big fights before it's to late, not fighting little known Alcine.
Once Simms has taken care of Alcine I hope he targets guys like Karmazin, Dzindziruk or even Forrest or Quartey

And its not just that he started late, its that after he won the title, can't even remember the other guys name, a mexican fighter, he just kinda dissapeared for a while.
