Joel Casamayor:not getting what he deserves.

"You'd think Joel Casamayor did something wrong the way he's been treated. The recognized lightweight champion was unceremoniously stripped of his alphabet title by the WBC merely for negotiating a possible fight with beltholder Acelino "Popo" Freitas. On top of that, the world's best 135-pounder can't get arrested at HBO or Showtime. HBO rejected the proposed fight with Freitas. Showtime, which televised his title victory against Diego Corrales in the fall, didn't want Casamayor back, and instead aired loser Corrales' next fight, which he also lost.
Casamayor (34-3-1, 21 KOs) is moving on regardless of the disrespect. Plans are in the works for him to defend his Ring magazine title June 22 in Panama City against Ameth Diaz (22-6, 16 KOs) of Panama, Luis DeCubas of DRL Promotions, which handles Casamayor, told ESPN.com. "
He is the best 135 pounder bar none and has a strong claim for being unbeaten and in P4P top 20 contention. So why is he treated like crap?
Re: Joel Casamayor:not getting what he deserves.
i know yeah he is an unlucky fighter. he gets avoided and robbed.
i remember watching his fight against kid diamond where he was robbed to get a draw where i watched him win nearly every round.
Re: Joel Casamayor:not getting what he deserves.
Sometimes there are fighters that just get shafted, unfortunately this is the case for Casamayor.
He is a phenomenal boxer and deserves much more credit than he's got. I'm not sure why he
gets puched aside by the media in general so much.
