Manny Pacquiao next Opponent Named
According to published reports, on Saturday just hours after defeating Jorge Solis to hold on to his WBC International super featherweight crown, Manny Pacquiao received information that he would be facing Juan Manuel Marquez next, sometime in September.

Re: Manny Pacquiao next Opponent Named
yeah jose sulaiman wants the fight to happen badly but ill still hold on to my sit. we know arum is always open minded about any transaction regarding pac and GBP, how about golden boy? what if he holds back marquez even on a strict order from sulaiman? Would marquez be willing to destroy his relationship with GBP? I think not, after all oscar has been good to him. Giving a chance to fight MAB is big enough of a reward and the other thing is his camp is still hesitant with the idea of fighting pac since it's a make or break situation where the breaking part is more likely to happen anyway. I don't know if their views have changed already and accepted that facing pacman is inevitable. but it seems between the two only pacman has been the excited one to face marquez, and every forum i go i can i can hear him say "i want to fight marquez, because i want to settle who clearly won the last fight"
i think somehow the arum vs oscar fight has become a blessing in disguise also, in the sense that if it weren't for there bitter dispute over the rights to promote pacquiao. A mab vs marquez would be unlikely to happen, instead there's a chance that a mab vs pac will be on; in the future. Financially wise it's really great but we all know that pac trampled mab in their 1st fight and the odds of pac doing it again to mab is even greater now that pac has improved ever since. And now that marquez has the belt, and pac as we all know for so long long time has ever longed a rematch against him[marquez] and only his manager and the whole camp is stopping him by convincing manny to hunt the bigger fish who is MAB. But you see "manny is half modern day boxer and half warrior in heart and mind." "He cares for the money but at the same time he wanted honor and respect badly by being the conqueror of the best of the best."
and so knowing marquez has the belt and all the recognition in this world right now plus the long lust of revenge from the last fight to prove who is the real winner. Folks there is a big big chance that this could unleash the real beast inside manny! yes, the monster we saw in the 3rd fight against morales "might possibly" be just the baby one. and guess what, fighting manny alone is so dangerous, but a very motivated pacman is a monster walking in the ring. But fear not, marquez will counter this by showing that he is the very best boxing technician manny has ever fought. He will be an immovable force in heart and mind in front of him[manny] to carry the torch and valor as the last line of defense of the greatest mexican boxers against the rampage of the one man conqueror that is pacman.
Two questions...... Will he succumb to pacmans irrisistible burning fury? or will manny finally bow down to one of the mexicans greatest boxing technician of all?..........................If the fight should happen "This is the best time to do it!!!" :-*

I didn't hear Bob Arum giving Pacquiao his blessing, but it's nice to see it in print.
Re: Manny Pacquiao next Opponent Named
This is the only fight i'm truly dying to see happen...I've been a die hard Pac fan since before he even fought MAB, EM, or JMM...I just don't post about him non-stop because i don't wish to be chalked up as a banwagoner or nuthugger...so i just enjoy his victories when they happen, and i grin at the doubters of his skills, chin, and heart...
Secondly, I have zero confidence this fight will actually happen.. I truly do not think JMM wants this fight..I think he will make a purse, weight, or glove issue to get out of it...I pray that i'm wrong...But i just don't trust JMM sticking with this possible rematch..

I think JMM would jump at the chance - especially based on the outcome of the last fight. JMM probably feels that he has Pacquiao's number after handily outboxing him for 10+ rounds last time.
But then again - I'd never count Pacquiao out. I do think he'll need a LOT more focus for a JMM matchup, though.
Or else he loses.

the only reason i dont see this fight possibly getting made has the initials ODLH

You then DON'T know JMM.
I can vouche that their is NOTHING in this world that he want's more then to fight PAC.
He didn't fight PAC on the turn due to his great Mngr. at that time :(
JMM knows that defeating PAC will solidify his career since PAC holds victories over MAB (which JMM already beat) and Erik. He always wanted to be in the lime light along with those guys hes chance is coming up and win, loose or draw he will be ready for it.

Exactly my point, your making it out to be like this is solely riding on GBP when TR has just as much pull as GBP.
It's a 50/50 thing.
