blacked out for a moment when i got hit in the top of the head

is it the same like getting hit in the chin? like wouldve i blacked out to if i got hit in the chin or is it that the top of the head is weaker and alot of people cant take hits to the top of the head. because ive taken good shots to the chin before and never blacked out or got wobolly legs.everything just went slowmotion for like half a second but nothing drastic. but when i got hit in the top of the head i blacked out for a while is it normal? and also how do you know when your hitting the heavy bag hard and firm and with power when you hear a loud snap or when the bag moves. thank you.

I'm not an expert on this, but it just sounds like a concussion that can happen to anybody. How'd you feel when you came around? You should be okay, just protect yourself better huh.

I hear nice snap when I hit the bag, and the bag swings to if I put some mustard into it. Biggest thing it just feels right, I'm not sure how to describe it. It's kinda like the in the zone feeling where it just feels natural in the response that moment you make contact you know whether you've hit it just right or not.

I was told that the top of the head is the hardest and you ahould be able to take more there if you mean sort of forehead area. I'm not sure about the very top as if something is dropped on you from directly above.

Did it happen during sparring in a club and do you know what punch/ combo you were hit with? That info might help someone more knowledgable answer your Q.

yes it was the very top like if someone drop something on top of your head this was like a year ago when i berly started and i kept on swinging wildly with my head down and got hit with a straight right to the top of the head. and to answer the other question i didnt fell bad after the only thing i felt was a half broken neck lol.

While getting hit on the top of the head is less likely to cause a knockout, its actully much worse for your health, so don't stick your head out like that.

Got a bit of a shock once when I got clipped on the head... by my twin haha... he's got a mean old cross on him and I stepped into it was I was going to the body...

You know the sort of aura you get when you get hit in the nose... the bloody taste/smell/what ever? I got that but like in my head.

Now I don't want to freak you out by saying this but my grandmother died by falling down the stairs because she had an unusually weak point in her skull.

I don't know how common this is since you'd have to be hit on a weak point to know it is there.

Just might pay to work on your defence a little more to prepare you for your next hard sparring session.

I've never been hit right on the top of my head with a punch coming from above despite being short and I'm not exactly Ali.

It probably won't take long to correct your technique enough to prevent this happening again.

I got sucker punched in the back of the head and got a concussion, and later that night went 3 rounds with some one and dont remember it at all. Chin isnt the only place to get KO'ed.
