Favourite Boxers, who never quite become a star.
I have a few guys i really admire and hope they become huge stars but never quite get over that final hurdle.
My first is Ike Quartey. I love the way he fights, always well conditioned, always competitive, but never got that one win to put him up with the top guys. I mean the man can fight he has had close decisions against delahoya, vargas, wright and forrest, if he could have beat one of them he would be making way more cash.
Can anyone think of other guys like this who you wish had a little bit more luck and became a star.

How was the fight with Wright close? Like close as in he didn't get knocked out but it went to the scorecards?

isn't he coming back???
hahahaaha

Maybe should replace close with competitive. I mean i thought he beat oscar, and could have gone either way with vargas. A win against either would have catapulted ike to stardom

ouma one of my favorite that just can't quite make it.

Larry Mosley. Really liked this guy early on when he fought on Oscar's HBO Latino cards. He lost something though. Kassim Ouma was a good one.

Not that i like him, but zab judah is another who thru stupidity never qutie became the star he could have.

Judah is probably my favorite fighter who never became a star. (Although becoming a world champ is a bigger accomplishment than 99% of fighters can claim.)
