web page hosting (question, not an ad.)

Just wondering if you of you guys have ever attempted to make your own webpage?
If so, what programs do you use to make it or that sort of thing??

My second question and main question, has anyone ever registered their own domain name? or ever had a webpage hosted?

I've started to make my own webpage for a small business i'm working on and havn't looked into any of the steps after the building of it as far as having it hosted on the internet so other people can look at it.

So if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing, please give me a yell back.
