Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
So really..What can we say..
We can keep bringing him down and i kept hoping oscar would hurt him..
And regardless of the fact it was no masacre but yet close..
Floyd showed the ability that he has..By making a living legend work like he has never worked before..
And still won the fight..Imo by a point..
So what can really be said..All i can bring myself to do is say..Well he won.. showed he can do what he did before with another level of competition..Could it be there is no competition for floyd..
Is cotto too easy to hit and too slow to beat floyd..The answer is probably yes..
Would hatton's workrate and style of slipping and body punching give floyd trouble..Maybe..
But we know for a fact that a slick boxer gives hatton all the trouble in the world..and he isnt entirely hard to hit...
Could it be that margarito has the power to really hurt floyd.. The answer is likely to be no..
What has floyd shown..
I mean look at him.. Hes never been truely hurt.. For split seconds i know he has..
But just look at the oscar fight when they are posing and both trying to get off first..
I looked at floyd and thought..Right..Which shot should he go for..
There was nothing!.. His hands seem low..But they in fact protect his body..
If you do throw the jab then your open for the fastest right hand counters around..
Right hands get rolled away from.. and the left hooks blocked or slipped
All the craft he has shown against opponents that could be belittled was still there and in full effect against probably the most worthy opponent either yet..Or atall..
And although he has never had that defining fight.. Whether he retires or not..
He never will.. Because there is just no competition for floyd..
The only thing that could remotely be the possiblility of his defining fight is mosely..
And everybody should know that though its an interesting concept to fight mosely..
Floyd would not risk trading with shane mosely as the speed of shane is as close to floyds as he will find.. And i dont see shane anywhere near outboxing floyd..
If he took that fight he would just win the best way for himself..
Although he is by far not the most exciting fighter out...
There really is no denying his legacy.. There is no more competition that he could have fought to say he didnt fight anyone who was a genuine threat to him..
Im starting to think that floyd will probably be portrayed in future as a huge all time great...
If i could take that away from him ..I would..Not scared to say that..
But i dont think theres anything to deny him a massive legacy if he is in permanent retirement as of now
Gottdamn i hope he fights again...
P.s I had a feeling he would do the whole ' roger mayweather mexican assasin' thing..
Proper cheeky!! Well worth a giggle!
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
well its clear who he has to fight, mosley
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
damn... Oscar could have won that fight.. :(
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
Floyd doesn't need to fight Hatton, cotto or margarito. He need to fight Zab Judah again so he can finally get knocked on his ass.

Thats the problem though..
I think its easy to say..Well he has done it all..But theres still mosely, theres still cotto, hatton yada yada
But once he's fought them..There will always be someone new on the scene..
Hell theres about four big fights out there for floyd.. Thats about two years of his career..
By that time people will be saying..He has to fight andre Berto..It wouldnt suprise me...
Then before he knows it..Hes been fighting so long he's shot and in roy jones' position..
Vulnerable in fights..And his legacy unneccesarily at stake in every fight..
The point is.. Even if he doesnt fight these people.. We can always find a reason why a certain fighter 'could' beat him..
But there will never be a fight against a prime floyd mayweather in which he is the underdog..
The fact is.. If he doesnt fight another man.. People will probably still know..
He would beat them.. And i think that will be how his legacy will be viewed if he fades away and doesnt fight again...
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
the only person that worries me is shane. shane would be a harder fight than oscar.
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
Shane at 154 would beat Floyd, no doubt. If the fight happened soon.
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
shane at any weight beats floyd...MAN vs boy...too much strength...floyd would get hit harder than he's ever been hit before..because while shane wouldn't be the most powerful puncher floyd has faced, shane will be the most powerful punchert hat has the speed to connect on floyd..he won't sit in the pocket and dodge that shit all night...nor would shane allow him to sit outside...it would be a great fight..probably better than oscar v mosely...and that's only cause shane's older..prime shane kayos pbf....
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
this is what its all about, after beating someone there should be a new challenge and great fighters love new challenges, they don't talk about i just beat him why should i fight him, great fighters FIGHT. thats what they do best, anything else they are trying to do sell themselve, try to be a boxer/business man takes away time for doing what they should be doing. and that is fighting, fighting the new challenges and beating them no questions ask just beating them.
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
Shane v Floyd's the one we want to see bring it on :)
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
Yeah I agree he should fight Shane, but I also think that he should fight Cotto, and Margarito and Hatton and every other big name in the sport possible. This is a man who has the rare opportunity to go down as one of boxings best fighters of all time, unfortunatly he just does not have the resume to do so yet. Oscar Delahoya is the only elite fighter on Floyds resume and thats that he was already a bit past his prime. Great fights make great fighters. Fights like Leanord - Hearns, Ali - Fraizier, Pryier - Arguello. Those are the type of fights were fighters gain imortality weather they win or loose. Mayweather has not been in such fight. And the big names have been there, but for some reason his path never crossed an elite fighter untill now. When you think of the eighties 4 names come to mind Hagler, Hearns, Leanord, Duran. You think it was a coinsidence that they all fought each other. They were great fighters in search of great fights and weather they won or lost those fights their Legacies were established in them. In my oppinion if Mayweather does not stepp it up when it's all said and done he will not be able to be named as a part of that class. The saddest part is that he just might have been able to beat all of them.
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
I agree mosely is the biggest threat even when iwas watching the odh v pbf i just thought shane would do a better job than oscar. i think he can cause floyd alot of problem as he has a descent output nd power doesnt tire to easy alhtough he is getting on nd has gd chin aswell as being a gd boxer so i think floyd would have to do more than potshot his way to get a W over sugar shane
Re: Ok..Regarding Pbf.. Its time to seriously consider..
I would like to see PBF vs Wright

While you make a valid point about, there allways being a new up and commer,Mosely and Judah are of the same generation as Floyd

Ummm...no he couldn't have. It was painfully apparent, sitting ringside, that Oscar had been outclassed. No matter what HBO & that biased bitch Lampley say...Oscar was easily beaten & totally confused.

Ha ha ha! Holy shit ya'll! This cat sounds as drunk as I often feel.
Judah got his ass handed to him & would get it worse the second go 'round.

Agreed. I would too.
I don't care what anyone says...in hindsight...I say that Wright has the best shot of beating Floyd.
