Serious Hatton question here.
Is there ANYONE....... and I mean ANYONE out there that feels that one Ricky Hatton would have even a ghost of a chance against Floyd Mayweather at 147 pounds? Even in Hatton's backyard... it matters not. ANYONE?
If so, please state your (heh-heh)... case, in clear, objective and compelling terms.
ANYONE?

No because he cuts to easy thats problem but his swarming style would give Floyd few problems but overall i think no because he cuts too easily.

Dont think Hatton would stand a chance. Basically the only fighter of any real note he beat was Tzu when he was well past his prime. The collazo fight was supposed to be his breakthrough but he never made the step up and was exposed badly. Differnt league altogether imo.
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
Never in a month of sundays does Hatton beat Mayweather he gets stopped easily by the p4p king who will go down as p4p one of the best ever

Let me put this in layman's terms.
Floyd at 147 would kick the living s*** out of one Ricky Hatton.
140? No. 147? Most decisively.

My sentiments exactly. CC # 291, my good man.
However, 140 would be rough and I'll tell you why. Floyd can't go there anymore. Too much of a sacrifice on the body. Fourteen pounds when you're in that range is A LOT. But anywhere north of that....... it's lights out Ricky.
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
the way i see it is hatton could throw the body shots that DLH was troubling Floyd with at times but all fight through the problem of course is he cudnt do it at 147 at 140 i think he could win but they aint ever gonna happen now
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
At 147 pounds i think mayweather would beat Hatton comfortably, at 140 i think hatton would beat mayweather comfortably. My reasons for thinking this are as follows....
Ricky hatton never let kostya tszyu get enough space to allow his punches to flow, at 140 pounds i think he would do the same to mayweather. Mayweathers speed would not be able to be displayed and used effectivly enough to win him the fight if he is being tied up and smotherd by hatton. Mayweathers power would not be a problem if hatton lasted tszyu's.
As seen at 147 pounds, ricky hatton could not impose his natural strength on luiz collazo and push him against the ropes where he could barricade with him with punches, he therefore (in my opinion) lost the the fight. although mayweather is not a natural at 147 pounds like collazo, the 7 pounds does make a significant difference at this level and would give mayweather the edge to win. He could avoid being tied up and use his dominating speed and accuracy to beat hatton.
basicly, Ricky hattons style is very effective if the power is there to support it.
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
i think he could be successful against floyd at 147 as well if it wasnt for his 'yo-yo dieting' which causes him to gas out
same thing with DLH floyd took control when oscar was tired in the last 3 rounds
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
The thing that stuck with me from this fight is how hard Floyd's punches looked when he sat down on them. Hatton is no threat to Floyd and if Floyd was offensive minded in the fight, Mayweather would stop Hatton within 5 or 6 rounds.
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
Ok guys calm down, De La hoya one fought twice in the last 3 years, this fight was overhyped, why do americans overhype crappy match ups i still remember the Tyson v Lewis, when Tyson hadnt barely fought.
Now Hatton is 27, and Mayweather 30, both in their prime, and both with excellent stamina and resilience.
Mayweather won yesterday does not mean he can smash anyone apart he was lucky one judge gave it to De La Hoya, Mayweathers own dad gave it to dela hoya.
Mayweather can not throw flurries, one punch at a time.
Mayweather back into a corner when a charging train comes at him.
Can Hatton take it out of him comfort zone, and do what De La Hoya did in early rounds throughout the 12 rounds, yes i am confident, but lets reserve our opinion for the ring magazine fighter of the year, 2 years ago, when he fights castillo
But Hatton Mayweather would be a real fight between two prime athletes better than what we saw last night that i guarrantee

ANYONE?
Sure . Hatton has a live chance at beating anyone. He swarms his man, and sticks like glue. A smaller ring would help !
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
Yeh Mayweather is a Real Elusive fighter infact he gives elusive an entire new meaning, lol
Re: Serious Hatton question here.
hatton doesn'y stand a chance against mayweather.
he is too fast, too skilled and too defensive for hatton
