Was this fight good or bad for boxing

i'm gonna say the fight was good for boxing. It wasn't the fight that was gonna save boxing like people were saying. i'm even sure who started that. the good thing was it got people who wouldn't normaly know there's a fight on saturday night talking about boxing. i havn't heard this many people in a couple of years(tyson lewis) askin about the fight. i think the pursit new what kind of fight it was gonna be. IMO if Castillo Corrales I could have done more to save boxing than this fight. it just lack the promotion. casual fans wanna see a slug fest not a boxing lesson.

i think hatton castillo is the kinda fight that could help boxing alot. atleast style wise.

The sad thing is that if people thought THIS fight was needed to save boxing then boxing is already dead.

Its just sad that this fight was so big. While other fights with better fighters like Winky-Hop will never get this kind of publicity. Its not like Mayweather is a crowd pleasing fighter. I dont see why people hate on the Winky-Hop match-up. At least they got the balls to face the best.

oscar has been good to boxing for the past decade, the only reason that fight got so much publicity and attention is because the goldenboy was fighting the p4p so called king, and everyone wanted to see the goldenboy win. floyd did what he could to make a name for himself by acting the way he did, but it will always come down to how great you look in the ring. and floyd did not look great, for one challengers are suppose to be more offensive and two p4p kings and greats are suppose to finish BIG. even though floyd won that fight i still give oscar props for making it a fight.

and no that fight was not good for boxing. it was just another fight.

It was not needed to save boxing but it does help. It shows that everything can go right on a big night.Both guys were in shape and no controversial event happened like fanman or bad scoring. I really think the scoring was ok considering the right guy won. I would have scored it 116-112 for Mayweather. I think if they rematch that will be the official score on UD for Mayweather.

i agree to this before the fight.. but the fight didnt turn out to be the war both fighters promised.i think the next time around people will be more hesitant to pay money to watch the higher weight classes..

i'm still trying to figure out where the whole save boxing thing came from.
