I heard that Arnica cream works like a charm. I use a heating pad occasionally.
Well use Mineral Ice on the minor aches,but the deep ones only the balm seems to do it,Ill look up the ArnicaQuote:

Did each trigger point three times and did stretch and push exercises with arms against wall in a few diff positions to stretch the lats and arms etc in between each round on the tennis ball.
Felt good! Got the idea of a sports med clinic went to a few days ago which had speakers talking about trigger point therapy. I recommend trying it although probably some of you have heard of it before and I'm just picking up on it late. :)

Trigger point therapy is great for releasing tension. You know when you've found one because it's really painful for a while then eases off and you often get referred pain/sensation. Hard to do on your own though. If you can get someone else to apply the pressure with their thumb or an elbow while you relax it works better. You can find them all over your body but the best ones are to be found in the scalanus, pecs,glutes and iliotibial band. :)
Right after a brutal work out or fight taking an ice cold bath (literally with ice in it) or socking the injured parts in ice water will greatly decrease heal time. I know that it's just as horrible getting into an ice bath as it is being sore for a couple of days so you gotta pick your poison.
