In my opinion it is a mix of money and not the right people making the games..
Perhaps they think that boxing fans are so fickle that we only stay up to date with the latest boxers and if they are not either active or known worldwide as legends then they do not need to be on the game ::**

Its contracts. But remember in the knockout kings days all these different fighters were in it?
They should really revamp the styles and make it so the styles really are unique depending on how you play the game. But That last Fight Night game. The judge jab was so freaking slow and everything and the knockdowns were just generic.
Actually mike tyson boxing had the best knockouts because it depended on the angles you were hit at and stuff like that and didnt get boring.
And what was with this new fight night where the computer makes it so its nearly impossible to hit someone after you were knocking them down ???

Yeaa i loved to hit a guy on the way down on 2004 and 2!!
Knockout kings had alot of good cast on it!!
Even the fighters who werent huge but made a real difference..Vargas, tito , de la hoya
I would love to see fighters like mosely, tito , vargas whitaker chavez and alot of other great fighters on a game in which they were done as well as the fighters are on next gen console versions of fnr3

Whoever said contracts is right. In Football, the video game developer makes an agreement with the Players union and the team owners and they get all the players.
Boxing has different promoters, managers, and is very splintered. I think they have to negotiate with each fighter individually and pay them royalties to make it happen. Probably alot of fighters that aren't popular now are priced out and the developer doesn't want to pay for something that isn't going to appeal to the masses.

Yeah the only way you could get all the fighters is if HBO and Showtime and the independent companies all agreed on a contract for the boxing game

Bingo.
It's just too damn expensive.
And considering that boxing games don't profit anywhere close to what a game like Madden does, it's quite a hard sell to get EA to invest that kind of money into a boxing game.

Surely if EA signed a contract with two or three of the US promoters, Frank Warren and an European and Japanese promoter, that would pretty much cover around 70% of the big fighters, and at the end of the day, if EA explain what the profitability on boxing games is like, then the promoters must realise that a little money is better than no money.
I mean, when I look in my wallet, I'd rather see a little money than no money. Straightforward...right?

Totally agree.
But we can't assume EA isn't pumping the promoters to sign on.
The promoters still need to come to agreements with each fighter individually too. And we're probably talking chump change compared to what top fighters are used to making.
So at the end of the day, the fighters still don't wanna sell out for the amount offered, and EA can't afford to invest more. All we can do as consumers is keeping buying the damn games so EA knows it'll be worthwhile.
But the more games we buy, the more they'll think we buy whatever shat they spew out regardless of who they sign on.
Catch-22.
I just wish the fighters realized how great the promotion is getting their name in games.
I mean, I used to think Mike Anchondo was the second coming of Christ when I first heard of him and saw his attribute stats in a Fight Night game.

One thing that gives me hope for the next fight night game is the fact that fight night round 3...
For one it has been the best of its kind even the ps2 version..
That..And it has now been released 3 times.. All games the best yet.. Its good looking .. Advertised well..
I think this must have made ALOT more money then the previous games.. And a great deal of this should show in the next game ;) :)

Unions like MLB,NFL,NBA,NHL,PGA. So they are signed as a whole, But boxing does not have a union so they have to sign each fighter a contract in which can be pretty $
