Johnny "Mi Vida Loca" Tapia
Hey guys..
Basically i just took a moment out and thought about johnny Tapia and wonderd what was going on with him.. The story of his crazy life never ends.. Near death over a cocaine overdose then his stepbrother died in a suspected drunk driving accident on the way to see him in hospital..
Its beyond fair for one man to experiance what he has..
Basically i havnt heard a whisper about Johnny in a fair while..
I know theres some tapia fans on the forum and i wondered if anyone had heard the latest news?
Peace
Re: Johnny "Mi Vida Loca" Tapia
Actually, JT is hanging in there, as he entered a drug treatment facility this week. There are some news stories about it online at Albuquerque Tribune and elsewhere. FYI, you can usually find the latest news/links/updates about Johnny (and read/post comments) at johnnytapia.net. That's where I found the links for the Albq Trib stories that just posted this week. Johnny was also just on HBO's "Real Sports w/Bryant Gumbel" earlier this week. I haven't watched it yet but apparently they did interview him. It's the only interview I really know of that he's even done since this whole mess with his recent overdose and his relatives being killed, etc. According to the TV schedule at HBO.com, it looks like the episode (#122) is going to be re-running a bunch of times over the next couple of weeks (and it looks like it will be on HBO OnDemand starting this weekend). Oh, also, I hear that JT's autobio is coming out in paperback in a few months if you haven't already read it. I have the hard cover, it's only 18 bucks at Amazon. A "crazy life" indeed. Whoa. Let's hope he makes it to the other side THIS time. Anyway, hope that helps! ;)

Even though he's a little guy, I'd still want to have Tapia at my back in a bar fight.
