If miranda moves upto Supermiddle like he says he will perhaps we will get Calzaghe vs Miranda it was quite obvious in round 6 that Miranda just ran out of gas perhaps he is struggling at the weight it was weird one minute he was punching then he just stopped and backed off i thought to myself he's run out of gas.But one things for sure he will light the supermiddle weight devision up and with them heavy hands he will definately win a world title Miranda vs Calzaghe Miranda vs Kessler 2 massive fights this will be great.

He ran out of gas because he was eating right hands like a all you can eat buffett. Pavlik and Miranda both naturally wiegh around 172 lbs. He just got beat plain and simple.

As entertainig and fan friendly as Miranda is he has glaring defeciancies.... Defense and Lack of fundamental skill will be severly limit him... Pavlik just tore him to pieces, Miranda has heart, he hung in there despite getting buzzed early and often, and also he has a sturdy beard. Those right hands he was getting clocked with could have knocked a horse out..
But I think he needs to move up in weight even the announcers were saying he has trouble making Middle now, and it was apparent in his lack of energy and usual pop in his punches :-\ I am not taking away from Pavliks win or performance, But Pantera needs to move up and not drain himself anymore

As others have already said he didn't just run out of gas in the 6th, he had the shit beaten out of him for the 5 preceding rounds.
I don't see how moving up will help improve his boxing ability.
In my opinion he needs to stay where he is (160 is a far weaker division than 168) and improve his skills.
Nigel Benn after getting knocked out by Watson and Eubank was able to transform himself into more well rounded boxer puncher and Sam Peter has had some success improving his skills over the past couple years.
He now knows that he can't just blast people out at will and needs to learn to box. Whether he can do that is what will determine his future success, not what weight he's fighting at.

Kessler will kill miranda, probably worse then pavlik.
I like Miranda for his determination, power and chin, but the guy just doesn't have the skills to keep up with kessler.
I think pavlik vs kessler @ super middle would be a great fight.

I don't think it's a question of chin in Miranda's corner...Pavlik punches like a gotdam mule kicks.
He's knocked out 28 of his 31 opponents & Miranda has proven to be durable enough by taking shots from Abraham, Green, & Gibbs just to mention a few. Pavlik must be credited for being able to blast him out. It's hard to imagine many others at 160lbs being able to handle those bombs.

Good points man, Pavlik's power is definitly very good, I just think 160 is a long way down for Miranda, I thought Miranda looked very dry on the way down and on the scales, I was careful not to mention this, I don't want anyone thinking its sour grapes but he looked very weight drained, the punches were effecting his equilibrium a lot rather than knocking him out, cos they weren't hard enough to knock him out, but making his legs jelly repeatedly, sometimes with glancing shots. I dunno. Its true there was nothing wrong with his beard when he faught Abe, but perhaps going to 168 could give Miranda the 'Cotto' effect. Perhaps he should move his head more ;).

He needs lots of time in the gym and he needs to watch his weight and above all stop looping his punches. His jab is not good and he seems like he truly is a one handed fighter. He's got to go back to school and take a crash course in boxing. There's more to fighting than a right hand punch.

:coolclick: I agree...something wasn't right about Miranda...but I just can't say with a clean conscience or even adsuredly that it wasn't Pavlik's hands that dried his ass up. I mean he REALLY busted Miranda up.
I do have to disagree...unfortunately...again...about his punches being glancing or that they weren't hard enough to knock him out. Miranda has a hellacious chin. Watch the match again & look at how fucked up Edison's face was. Pavlik was unloading on him with bricks in his gloves. Credit to Miranda for trying to keep getting up offa the mat...but Pavlik planted his ass there 3 times & it woulda been 4 had the ropes not held Miranda up.
He hits hard babe...extremely. Miranda counted bulbs two or three times off of hooks & not uppers from Pavlik. I'm tellin ya...he was gettin ripped.
I just, again, can't be sure about the weight issue as it just seemed like an excuse in the line of a debilitating loss. While I see what you are saying...& what Miranda is saying...but watch again & pay attention to the shots & how Miranda reacted to them. Abraham is also a bit of a cracker & he caught Miranda quite a few times that most Miranda fans refused to acknowledge...but never NEVER EVER was Miranda that hurt.
