The new ring rankings suck, and here's why!
Damn I always thought the Ring rankings were at least credible. This is bullshat.
How has Winky fallen so far to be demoted, considering he's not lost a fight for years and most people thought he beat Taylor?
It seems the Ring have shown what they felt about Taylor's decisions by dropping him below Hopkins who he beat twice in a row and has lost 2 of his last 3 ???
But it's the absurdity of sticking R Marquez at number 3 jthat really pisses me off. >:mad
I know El Gamo practically feeds off of Marquez's 'milk' but come on, number 3, you gotta be kidding me?
Personally I don't think it should even be possible for a fighter below featherweight to even make the top 10 no matter how good his resume.
If your p4p one of the best fighters in the whole entire world you should be able to pound out any 130 lb man in the world imo.
People love these puny little guys for some reason that is beyond me. I know Gamo will come on here now and bash me for my stupidity and hating citing that R Marquez has beaten more ring top 10 guys than anyone else but it's really meaningless.
He beat top ranked ring guys in the bantamweight divisions, for which read less than 9 st F****** pgymy men.
They are virtually all little phillipino fishermen or poor south american 'coca' growers because they are the only kind of people small and impoverished enough to make that weight.
I'm sure there are heavyweights out there who have beaten loads of Ring top 10 ranked fights in the heavyweight division but we all disregard them because we know the heavyweights all suck.
The difference with the little weights is that you just don't ever see these little guys fights. Sure you watch the top guys like R Marquez and Israel Vasquez, but the vast majority of their Ring top 10 ranked 'opponents' are all part timers who train in between harvesting their crops or hauling in a big catch on some shitty little raft cobbled together with a few sheets of bamboo.
Ok so they are in the top ten of the pissants division but they could still be beaten up by virtually any professional athlete from football, track and field and rugby so who cares?
Hell if Laila Ali or Ann Wolfe were to fight R Marquez's past opponents my money would be on the girls to butcher them all so why don't they make the p4p list?
If you can't discriminate against a male boxer based on the fact that he's a F****** 5 ft 3 in 115 lb runt then surely someone who could kick their asses whilst having the handicap of being born female should be rated even higher?

It's the definition of P4P Bilbo. And know matter what you think, these guys ARE talented, the have devoted their life to boxing and the bouts are usually hotly contested. No one is saying Rafael Marquez would beat up Mayweather, they are saying he is the 3rd most talented fighter in boxing with a resume to boot. Robert Guerrero makes 125 all the time, but in reality the guy is by no means small. I mean if you eyeballed him, you would guess he is 160 pounds. Yet you see a guy like Ben Tackie in person, and you would swear he weighs no more then 120 pounds. All a bit ridiculous to be honest, I'm hoping most of that was in jest because the slighting of the small guys is ridiculous. Rafael Marquez is one of the best talents in all of boxing.

nah not at all, take the current p4p top 10.
Virtually everybody on here seems to think that if Pacman, Floyd and Winky all weighed the same, that both Floyd and Winky would beat Pac.
I'd also add Hopkins to that list, probably Calzaghe, De La Hoya, James Tony, etc.
But because he's a little guy he's p4p top 2 in most eyes, even number 1 in others.
R Marquez has beaten a host of top bantam weights but which of those bantamweights if they weighed the same as the likes of Hopkins, De La Hoya, Winky, Floyd, Calzaghe, Tony etc would have beaten any of them?
I doubt any of them would but R Marquez gets all the credit and is ranked at 3 in the world now.
They have lower standards for judging little guys, it's a fact.
Wlad Klitschko has pretty much cleaned out the heavyweight division in recent years with big wins over Sam Peter twice and Chris Byrd both top 10 ranked Ring fighters (for the heavyweight division) but nobody even thinks of putting him in the p4p list.
I can virtually guarantee if he weighed 120 lbs and those names were Vasquez and any other top bantamweight he'd be knocking on the door.
Come to think of it if Valsquez weighed the same as Chris Byrd I'd fancy Byrd to school him seeing as he's used to fighting much bigger fighters than him. A puncher his own size and weight probably wouldn't be much of a problem.
p4p even Eddie Chambers would start favourite over Vasquez imo, so why does beating him put someone to p4p number 3 in the world?
Answer, of course, because he's a little guy and little guys get loads of credit for beating up other little guys.

He's a very good fighter, put his skillset at the same weight as the other guys, well he might beat some he might not. But that's not the point of P4P, and that is pure speculation. It's one thing to compare fighters of a different era, I think that is a bit ridiculous. Comparing different weights is beyond absurd. P4P isn't a "This fighter beats everyone below him" type thing, it's just recognizing talent and resume compared to others.

Yes I've seen them fight. I enjoy watching them, but in the same way as I enjoy watching bumfights or women's MMA.
@JuliasRain. I agree R Marquez could kick my ass but I'm not talking about him really. I'm talking about these minimum weight to bantamweight guys. The vast majority of them could be beat by a large proportion of athletes from other sports, do you not agree?
If Isreal Vaszquez was to fight a basketball star, an American football star, a track and field star etc my money would be on the other athlete as would most I suspect.
By the way I'm not saying that no little guy should ever be p4p what I'm saying is that if a little guy is truly p4p he needs to be able to move up the wieghts and beat all the other little guys.
Pacman, Barrera and both Marquez's have done that to a greater or lesser extent and I have no problems with them being on the list. But R Marquaez at number 3 is just too high.
