Gatti v Gomez, Roy Jones, + Margarito v Williams - all on the same night!
What on earth is going on? 3 different cards, in 3 different arenas, all on the same night July 14th. The boxing business has another organisational triumph ::**

As I understand it, Gomez-Gatti and Margarito-Williams are being put on the same TV card, they are just taking place in different cities. But yeah, running two cards against eachother in a sport desperate for viewership and fans is mind-numbingly stupid.

Not to mention that the Roy Jones fight is PPV while neither of the others are ::** ???.... How ridiculous is that, it won't get 10,000 buys.. RJJ has never been great with the business side of things but lately it's gotten even worse when he can use any exposure he can get the most... Makes no sense.

I really don't see why RJJ is staying on in the sport... I mean, he's accomplished pretty much everything there is to do in boxing, why continue? Its just going to harm his legacy and maybe even his health.

If he'd have retired after he faught Ruiz he'd be in a better spot than he is now, with him fighting like he does know, he can't re-write his legacy.

Noo... if he had retired after the first Tarver fight. He had showed his heart and won the fight despite all against him. And hey there were even some people(if you can find them on this planet) who thought Tarver won.
So Roy could have retired, tarver could have had a boosted push as HBO's new Light Heavyweight while Roy is retired and commentating.
Roy's legacy in tact, and Tarver's star rising. And then whatever could have happened.
That seems such a better ending :(
