What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
Was thinking about mine and thought it'd be interesting to know other people's especially since I might have some of the same bad habits without having picked up on it.
I have two:
1) I drop my right hand every time I throw my jab - suprisingly enough posing like super man in the ring hasn't given me any super powers!
2) I try to be tall against taller opponents - it really is time to accept the fact I'm a short a*** and get over it!!!!
So now you know mine .........

LOSING IS THE WORST HABIT?
DONE IT TWICE! HAHA
Nah Personally, my worst habit, is getting angry!
When you get mad, you lose your sense of judgement.
Have done it a few times, guy gets good hit on me, I hear the people watching clap for him and shout good stuff at him, so I get mad and throw a fury of punches...and then am rocked by one of his!
BUT I GOT OVER THIS!!!
Haha

Ive probably got a few bad technical habits but my main problem is I'm not offensive enough when sparring.
LUCKY_13 send a bit of that aggression my way, I need it!
Re: What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
I find it very hard not to over train myself.
In the ring I throw a lot of body shots... and the judges don't like it. ;)
Re: What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
Inconsistency is my main problem
I used do be great in one round, keeping my opponent on the end of my long left jab and feeling like a Wilfred Benitez and popping in the right hand for good meassure and get a good old fashion asswhuppin the next.
Mainly concentration problems
Re: What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
Currently:Trying to make 37 year old legs bounce around the ring like a 20 year old(Im working on it)
Longstanding:Getting my martial arts and my boxing confused,(this is mainly fixed)I used to start to want to lift my leg when I was in a hand only situation,or throw almost exclusivly hand strikes in a martial arts one(and judges just about allways call two hand strikes to the body a "clash")
Re: What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
Repeatedly throwing jab combos = me running out of steam too quick, then relying on defense and a half assed body shot now and then!
Re: What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
pacing myself too much so i dont run out of steam in sparring
n overworking before sparring
Re: What's your worst boxing habit? (past or present)
Dropping both of my hands if I didin't respect the guy's power like I'm friggin Roy Jones Jr., and moving straight back even if I did. My trainer used to tell me, "I don't know why you keep winning, cause half of what you're doing is wrong".

Try thinking of your jab hand as your head protector, and your power hand as your bodies
Ever taken a martial art?
