Further Calzaghe-Kessler news (still far apart)
I just bought a copy of this week's Boxing News.
Apparently, Mogens Palle claims that Frank warren did not send back the same offer he made in the fax. Palle claims that the terms of the deal were for the fight to happen in November, for Palle's 50th anniversary as a promoter, but Warren sent back the offer to move the fight to September.
Palle said "If I'm going to promote it, I can't have Warren dictating things."
I dunno what else to say here, but wasn't it Palle originally suggesting September instead of July because Kessler "wouldn't be ready in time"??
Re: Further Calzaghe-Kessler news (still far apart)
I don't know mate this is still such a mess
Re: Further Calzaghe-Kessler news (still far apart)
I dunno guys. Just when I was starting to believe it would happen. It's bullshit. I thought Warren was bad, but Palle is a tit.
Re: Further Calzaghe-Kessler news (still far apart)

sounds like a great idea for a thread to be honest. I'm sick to bloody death of Warren & Palle. Are they both content to continue this merry-go-round of bullshit?

there is a few decent articles in there. That one is a small one near the front...but there is a great cover of the Eubank-Benn fights too.
Re: Further Calzaghe-Kessler news (still far apart)
im just reading that now mate its a good read these 2 were my favourite supermiddles
Re: Further Calzaghe-Kessler news (still far apart)
It doesn't appear to be anything to do with either promoter being scared of pitting their fighter against the other but more than anything it's their ego's at play here. Palle clearly said numerous times that he wanted the fight in September but now he's turning things around. What a tosser. Looks like Warren really did call his bluff. I've even been on the phone to friends trying to arrange a trip to Copenhagen incase this comes off. Always though Warren was the one being the dicatator with this fiasco.

I hated Eubank to be honest. Benn, on the other hand, was the man. There are few boxers I have more respect for than Nigel Benn.

They need to realise it has nothing to do with their egos, it's about making a great fight that for the sake of boxing, and the boxing fan, needs to be made. If they're both aware of this, and knowing full well that the inability to make obvious fights is a major criticism of the sport, then they should just step aside and make this as easy as possible. In the long run, if this carries on, by the point they finally come to an agreement, nobody will care and they'll lose money. Just fucking co-promote it and shut the fuck up.

I know. I haven't had much chance to read it all yet but I saw that. I had a quick scan but half an hour for dinner in work hasn't given me much time to read it. I'm surprised they haven't realised I spend most of my day posting on here, lol. You think if I get sacked, I can sue saddo for this addictive website?
