I'm watching an amateur bout of Leonard's vs. Currey, and they are saying that Ali was basically a one handed fighter against Norton for two of their fights up to that point. I never understood why Norton gave him so much trouble of all fighters, but that could explain it.
Ali had constant hand problems thru out his career but his acheivements over shadowed that. I read in a book once that they used gave him shots of something in his knuckles before his fight with frazier so it wouldn't become an issue.
Total crap if you ask me i never see anything wrong with Alis hand what an excuse i don't remember Ali saying anything either its just Norton had the style to trouble Ali isn't that funny that its the 2 fights in most peoples eyes he should of lost ::** Or maybe im wrong were you on about the first two fights but still its total crap imo.
Ali never said anything but i definitely read in a book that there was a photographer who followed him around for a while and he documented that ali had constant hand problems thru out his career. To my understanding it wasn't as much a wrist problem as it was a knuckle problem.Quote:

I'm not trying to come up with an excuse im just saying what i read. I don't think knuckle injuries would affect somebody as much as wrist injuries. It's been documented but to be honest i don't think it would've affected the fight that much and norton is completely responsible for the win he got against ali.Quote:

One time before a fight the doctor had to inject painkillers to stop the flamming in his knuckles, I red that in 'Ali's life and Times'
