Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
He is on the right track for trying to make some kind of legacy but he needs to turn it up. Needs to either defend his title alot or unify it but since i think the heavyweight division belts will never be unified unless some big company busy out the WBC IBF WBA WBO not counting on him becoming the only heavy weight champ but if he can avenge at least 2 of the three fights he lost and defend his belt 10 or 15 times he might just find him self as high as top 20 maybe but that just what i think love some input.
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
.....he's currently trying to avenge a loss, if I am not mistaken, I do believe that ranks right under UNIFY THE TITLES in regards to the level of importance of his "Things to do" list
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
Lyle i didn't queit get what you ment there i think he could unify the championship but i don't think he will ever get the chance to do if that what you meant to say

Agreed, but Vlad not fighting one of the other champs is almost getting as annoying as the Calzaghe situation. Lets hope if he beats Brewster, he can get a fight with one of the other belt-holders.
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
Well he's fighting Lamon Brewster....which is a rematch vs a guy who beat him.....the last guy to beat him actually.
Avenging a loss is something that CAN make a fighter be considered more highly.
Besides with ANY unification bout put on hold this rematch is better than #1 fighting another mandatory and #2 doing nothing at all
Unknowndonor, Wlad couldn't fight another title holder: WBO: Briggs-Ibragimov just happened, WBC: Peter-Maskaev is scheduled, WBA: Chagaev-Valuev just recently happened as well.
The best Wlad can hope for right now is to beat Brewster easily and then set up a fight with Sultan or Chagaev
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
Yeah the Brewster fight was the best one available plus the fact that it's a rematch of a fight Wlad lost makes it not a bad choice.
I think Wlad needs to fight the winner of Maskaev/ Peter next.

I would like to see him fight more at least three a year.

The scheduling is what is aggravating. It's not Vlad's fault. It's the merry-go-round of title holders changing, then the sanctioning bodies, granting the mandatories. It just seems like it's never going to happen. Just venting some frustration, that's all. I'm glad that Vlad is tring to avenge his loss.
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
....well it's Don King that's aggravating
He wants to protect his heavyweights OR get a piece of the Klitschko pie.....and neither is happening
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
Even if he cant get the unification match's which i think is possible since it seems the other belt holders have mandatories or they want to fight some Else, he can still have a good spot in heavy history if he can defend his belt around 10 to 15 times against good people maybe get one of the other belts in the process i think he'll have his spot on the top 20 of all time don't think he will reach top 10.

That too. Just posted that in another thread a few days ago.
Re: Wladamir Needs to pick it up for the next couple of years
Wish they would make it one belt again so we would have a world champion again
