I'd have Mel Grey as my KR specialist. I'd try to build my team around him.

Skel & Mick,
That's how they line up on the field? Intresting.
I think I know less about soccer than I do any other sport. I know more about badminton.

I think Becks gets hacked a lot due to the media coverage he gets OUTSIDE of his profession.
When someone says the word soccer most people today will answer: Beckham.
Not knowing really much about what hes done on the pitch.
IMO, Becks has got to be the best Free kick taker ever.
If you can name me another Free kick taker that has done what Becks has done. I will have no other choice but to agree.
Dinhos a really good free kick taker, Klinsman was a good free kick taker, ZiZous a really good free kick taker.
On the pitch ball in play I would without a doubt have NO ONE ELSE center the ball but Becks I can not think of another player who delivers the ball like he does with people defending him.
Not sure what angle your thinking I'm listing Becks, I'll be the 1st to tell you hes not near along the lines of Cryuff, Pele, Diego or Ronaldo. I'm listing Becks because of his style of playing plus you have to consider how I would play the team. ;) Again I think Becks function as a set player is unequal and he serves his purpose putting balls up there for Ronaldo like he did with Madrid would be awesome and setting up Pele with headers and drifted passes would be key. I listed Becks cause he plays ball my style and thats the style I would have that team play.

In a field theres 11 players per team. When referencing 'formations' one doesn't mention the goalkeeper. For obvious reasons, that being EVERYONE knows where he goes. ;) The 1st number is ALWAYS your defense, then your midfield, last number is your forwards.
The standard formation is 4-4-2 Meaning: 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 forwards.
Thats 10 + goalkeeper (which again is a given when referencing formations)
Theres other formations like 4-3-3, 3-4-3 and depending on the style/plan that you have for the game you can pick out a formation.
Italians are known for being defensive so they usually play the 4-4-2, 1 defender stacked/ahead like this....
Goalkeeper
defender defender defender
defender
If you wanna come out attacking cause you've got great forwards then you'll come out with a formation something like.....
goalkeeper
defender defender defender
midfielder midfielder midfielder midfielder
forward forward
forward forward
You can always move them a few steps ahead to give the players more space and be able to move around.
But thats somewhat the gist of it. :)

Good lesson, Mick :)
You've taught me something I would not have learned elsewhere. I have a friend named CJ who is into soccer but he can't explain things worth a damn. Teaching is a gift you are born with.
I like how you explained the "goalie 4 granted" rule twice just incase I've been punched upside the head too many times in sparring.

We have no chance against mick he's found a way to play the deadly 3-4-4 formation!
Yeah, never saw Rivelino at the time but seen clips and he was truly awesome. I can see the reasoning for your inclusion of Beckham, IMO though the ultimate killer in football has always been speed so I wouldnt include beckham solely for that reason, he sacrifices too much in this department. I think with 4 south americans, Cruyff and Eusebio, I should be alright for deadly skill and pace :P
