Anyone a fan of Forumla 1 racing? - Perished Heroes
Pretty fucking powerful vid. A tribute to all those drivers who have perished doing what they love. Some harrowing scenes in here.
The one where Williamson is burning and Purley is trying to help him is particularly harrowing. Good music too.

Believe it or not, I'm American but I'm a huge F1 fan. Anthing that can make 800hp from 2.4L naturally aspirated V8 at 21K rpm's is cool with me. I actually got into it during the old 3.0L V10 days.
RIP- Ayrton Senna

A :coolclick: doesn't really seem appropriate for something that made me practically break down and cry but it was a very good video.
It's easy to forget how dangerous the sport is these days but that vid really highlighted the risks.
I agree the Williamson burning was particularly horrible.

was just about to post and then i read this, and feel the same way about the CC
Man that choaked me up big time... i am a huge F1 fan, i mean sunday is a wasted day to me if there aint no F1 on - the monaco grand prix is one of the most looked forward to events on my calander...
there was one thing missing from that video mind you... a thank you to the stewards; in those cases they couldn't save them, but fuck me they put their life on the line almost every grand prix and done their fair share of life saving - they are brave sons of bitchs, braver than me; when shit hits the fan they have to be dragged away coz they will go down trying to save the driver, and thats some real balls right there, big respect to them, the unsund heros of F1 imo
Re: Anyone a fan of Forumla 1 racing? - Perished Heroes
the senna one is weird for me to watch i mean he was an awesome driver and the smallest fault in the car just wiped him out
Re: Anyone a fan of Forumla 1 racing? - Perished Heroes
CC for the video. It was difficult to watch some of the stuff (yep, from a retired cop with 34 yrs on the job). I am a big fan of all types of motor racing, but I really get upset when people say things like, "It's not a sport" or "A bunch of guys making a left turn." It takes an incredible degree of fitness and skill to drive at the speeds they drive at and the amount of time they do it.

Gilles Villeneuve was a Canadian Hero, so it was tough for me to see him get tossed from his car and go flying through the air. :'( cc for the vid.
Here's one from Indy that made a big impression on me as a kid.

Great video man... :coolclick:
I still remember the ill-fated weekend at Imola in 1994... Ratzenberger and Senna both killed. :(
I was staying at my aunts house and eating dinner when the news came on and the headline was "Ayrton Senna dies after a crash at Imola". I remembered seeing the crash earlier, but just assumed it was another F1 crash that the driver would most likely survive. Even though I was so young, I still knew the enormity of what had happened. Senna was a sporting icon and one of the most talented drivers F1 has seen, and now he was dead. My Dad was in a state of a shock being a huge Senna fan, he couldn't believe it.
What was strange was that Senna was very worried about the new safety regulations that were in force and during the Williams team briefing before the start of the race, he raised lots of concerns about them... almost prophetic really.
Re: Anyone a fan of Forumla 1 racing? - Perished Heroes
CC's to all fellas
Seeing ratzenbergers head just roll as his car came to a stop, the music accompanying it made it all the more powerful.
The williamson one is heart breaking. If you read the story behind it Purley abandoned the race to help his friend. He got there and could hear Williamson screaming for help to get him out before the flames took over but alas he was trying alone and couldn't turn the car over to get Williamson out. So williamson died.
The Marshals were serverely slated for that incident as Williamson needlesley died. Horrific stuff and the vid does bring a serious lump to the throat of the F1 fan. I bet even non f1 fans would get choked at this.

I'm more of a nascar guy when it comes to racing but I do have major respect for Formula 1 racers.
Anyone else on this forum pay any attention to nascar?? I know what most of you are going to say that is boring and all they do is drive around in circles, well my friends theres allot more to it then just that. And if you ever actually go to a race live its so much fun.

Oh definately bro, like I said I have tons of respect for F1 drivers I mean shitte you have to have respect for drivers that can go over a 150 mphs and make it look easy to control lol. I just grew watching nascar, my dad always watched nascar, football, and boxing so I tooking a liking to all three myself and still watch them to this day.
