Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
http://www.fightnews.com/giongco100.htm
This news is from fight news dot com. Well it's Arum talking, but we all know he's Pacquiao's promoter so he should at least be the first to know who he fights next. It basically says that Soto is the right man thus far, should Soto defeat Pac's brother Bobby this weekend. Well he IS Mexican afterall? heh The Mexicutioner should be happy to oblige. I think it also hints that Freddie Roach wants Valero the most. Arum states that Barrera wants no part in Pacquiao rematch under a Golden Boy banner. Or maybe this is a way to bait Barrera in for a final match? Either way, I've NEVER heard Bob Arum talk THIS GOOD about Golden Boy and this frustrated with Barrera instead. Pretty interesting stuff.

So many fighters, so little time for Pac >:mad

The obvious opponent would be Barrera, but I seriously don't believe that Oscar or maybe even Barrera realize that PAC-MAN IS THE MONEY-MAKER in thier potential rematch.
Oscar and/or Barrera have to take a back seat for once, and I don't think either can do that with their "rivals" in this one.
I mean, look at how Pac has a buzz on his next opponent, just look at all the talk and threads based on "Who Manny fights next?"
Pac is definitely THE MAN in his division, and he is promoted by Arum, who is THE MAN in promoting. Arum is death-rivals with Don King, yet when it comes to huge fights, they always find a way to consolidate and make for a profitable matchup.
Re: Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
honestly i'd rather see Pacquiao take on Marquez, i say let Barrera go off into the sunset, he's already proven all that he's had to
Re: Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
Soto? Its hardly the matchup that Im awaiting.
It should be Guzman, Barrera, Valero or Marquez...

Very true. To be honest, I'd rather have a Marquez fight also. Arum's too smart for that, Marquez can make Pacquiao look silly. Notice now Bob doesn't even mention his name? ha Your right though.
But I think Manny can take out Juan.
Re: Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
Pac should be fighting Soto and guys from his era Valero , Guzman etc . He has nothing to prove fighting the older guys . He has nothing to gain but everything to lose .
Personally id like to see him fight Barrera again in teh Mexicans farewell fight but if I were Pacs adviser , for his own careers sake he needs to fight young up and coming fighters to keep him sharp .
Re: Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
I agree Manny needs to start fighting the younger hungrier guys if the match with JMM cannot be made. I'd like to see a Guzman fight, it's the fight Roach said would be most difficult. Valero is too raw,Soto has not had many fights at the weight although his style is a nightmare for anyone.
Re: Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
I want Pac fights whoever is the greatest threat. He is the prime Pac so he should take advantage of it and clean the 130 division for good.
My suggestion to Manny is he must destroy the youngans (Valero and Soto) asap before they destroy him in a couple of years. It's like a leader of a pride, a male lion killing rival male cubs before they can do serious harm against him.
After Pac is through with the youngans, then he must now focus on the old ones where the real money is (JMM,MAB,Guzzy).

As a diehard Pacquiao fan like yourself wanting PAC to get the win no matter what ;D I agree that PAC should take on the biggest threat(in the future) which is Valero and Soto ASAP. These two has youth and size going for them agaisnt PAC, so PAC should fight them while he is at his strongest.

Amen to that brothah. :D
Re: Pac's future foe to be Soto? And Barrera Backing Out?
Theres no problem with Pac going for the money . After all this is a business not just a sport . Financially a Barrera return would be huge . We dont need to see Barrera - Marquez two as we all have our own interpretations on how that fight went . Pac may though start looking at defining fights after the Mexican trio hhave retired .
