The big dream of Universum middleweight Khoren Gevor is within reach. The IBF #5 contender has been named the official challenger for world champion Arthur Abraham. This was approved by the IBF today. The clash between Germans with Armenian roots will take in the next few months, place and date to be announced. Gevor is highly motivated for his big opportunity against Abraham. "Super, great," he said. "Finally I've received the chance that I've worked so long for. I'm very happy and will give everything." Trainer Fritz Sdunek added, "The boy has more than earned this chance. He has worked so hard and been in line for a title fight several times. At last it is finally happening. We will prepare hard because Arthur Abraham is beatable!"

Anyone know much about Gevor?
Only have seen his last two or three fights...he got a great trainer in Fritz Sdunek,but lacks the punch
and skill to become dangerous for AA,...Still AA should take Gevor serious... a chance to get the belt
can be very motivating...UD for AA is my guess...

It was at the training camp on Majorca where Arthur Abraham learned about his next opponent - the undefeated IBF middleweight champion will make his second mandatory defence against Universum´s Khoren Gevor. "That is no surprise for me," King Arthur stated. "I only took one week off in Armenia after my last fight and then started practicing straight away. I will be ready." Some weeks ago Gevor did not look like a potential Abraham opponent as he is only rated fifth by the IBF. But with Edison Miranda, the original mandatory challenger, losing and European champion Amin Asikainen taking on Sebastian Sylvester in Zwickau on June 23, Gevor has been made mandatory challenger. "Of course Arthur is the favourite," coach Ulli Wegner said. "One must not underestimate Gevor, though, even though his name might only ring a bell with a few experts. He is fundamentally sound and a strong fighter. Arthur should not take him lightly."

CC for the info my no1brother for news on Euro fighters. Any chance on Arthur going to the States to fight at some point or is he far too comfortable in his own backyard?

I haven't heard anything accurate about AA coming to the US,but he already did take a look how
things are when he traveled to the US for the Valuev vs Barrett fight...
But if you americans are lucky Felix Sturm will come at the end of the year to the US again...
