if he'd have fought like he did for the first 5 maybe because i thought he looked pretty sharp showing his boxing skills moving bobbing and landing. I know Urangotan was no Whittaker but when he's on his game(which hasn't been for a while) I think he's awesome. Don't know about taking Mayweather but they'd give him a miles better shot.

Urango and Mayweather are different fighters in every way. I don't think Hatton could have done any better in his fight with Urango. Urango wanted to fight on the inside for most of that fight, and Hatton neutralized that with most of his fighting on the outside, and clinching when they got close. Urango was a game fighter, he showed some moments in that fight where he was looking to throw more than left hooks to the body but he'd never adapted at all. He would have have done a lot better if he wasn't so focussed on body punching and duking it out on the inside.

People would still make the excuse that Urango was overrated or was never a genuine threat etc..
Urango didnt show a great deal..But showed enough to let people know he wasnt completely nd utterly outclassed..
Ricky had it comfortably but it wsnt good enough for people..
The hate would have been stronger after a whitewash imo

Ricky won the fight with ease. He won most of the rounds anyways. He had no need to fight differently...
My only issue with Hatton is that he isnt fighting enough. Once last year. Only twice this year perhaps. With a guy like Hatton who has a tendency to balloon up, this is my only gripe. He is aging himself prematurely...
I do hope he beats Castillo well though. It wont be an easy fight...

No. If for no other reason then Hatton was the boxer against Urango, because that was the easiest way to beat him. I don't think you could find the most loyal Hatton fan in the world who would feel that Hatton ever had a chance to beat Mayweather by BOXING him... Sure Hatton looked fairly sharp for the first half of the Urango fight, but that's because Urango IS a very limited fighter with no depth to his game.. It's very difficult to find a performance from Hatton that would suggest he has even a chance at beat Floyd imo, but the one fight that could suggest that is against KT. Hattons chance against Mayweather would be to fight from the inside all night, taking punishment on the way in but then staying there and doing everything he could possibly do to bang the body and rough him up in close. If Hatton stayed on the outside like he did against Urango, Mayweather would use him as target practice. I think he would do so anyways because he is so much more skilled than Ricky and would always create space for himself with better movement and a better aray of punches... But still, Hattons only shot would be to stay inside.

Castillo's record isn't that impressive. He fought very well against an injured Floyd Mayweather although in the rematch he proved it was a one off performance.
He barely scraped past a novice fighter last time out who look oh so impressive against the mighty Randall Bailey last week. He won a hotly contested decision over Casamayor and to my knowledge with the exception of his 4 round ko job on a severely weight drained Corales (whilst he himself cheated by not bothering to make weight) he's never beaten a top level opponent in style.
Apart from going 1-1 with Coralles his biggest wins are a gift of a decision againts Casamayor and a defeat to Floyd Mayweather.
Such an overatted fighter imo and quite apt that his 'megafight' shoulld be against the only other fighter who has a more inflated rating than him.
It's a shame the fight wasn't in Texas as then it could have been billed Castillo vs Hatton Texas Hold'em.
Anyway I predict Hatton will win a dreary 12 round decision in an ugly brawling mess of a fight.
Afterwards he will give his usual spiel about the important thing was winning this fight, not necessarily looking good and that now he's got the win he will give a much better performance next time as he goes after S Mbay'es world title to complete his set of paper christmas cracker crowns. He will have crowns in all 4 colours so that he, Matthew and mum and dad can sit around the table on Christmas day wearing all of Ricky's paper crowns, eating lots of Yorkshire puddings and getting even more fat.

If Hatton did fight the whole fight that way casual fans would give him a better chance but hardcore fans would know that that style just wouldn't work against Mayweather. The only way Hatton could beat Floyd would be by fighting the same way De La Hoya did but sustaining his pressure for the full 12.

bilbo thats harsh man. hattons a good fighter. where him and mayweather are concerned tho mayweather is the better boxer but hatton is the better fighter do ya no what i mean. i think out of anyone i think hatton on his game as in non stop pressure fightin for all twelve rounds is the only way to beat floyd. but like one of u lads said if hatton stays on the outside he would get picked off.the only way to win would be to fight in close. and there is no one better in the fight game at that then hatton. i believe hatton on his day could beat mayweather and i would bet my house on it i really believe that.
