100 fights only 3 losses and they where in his early days, would he have beat Hagler, Sugar RAY L, Hearns, i think he would have taken Hagler on points. Hearns tko, and lost on points to Lennard ;)

Monzon IMO is the greatest Middleweight ever. (that's rating SRR at Welterweight)
Rating SRR at Middleweight then Monzon cruises right behind SRR as the second best Middleweight.
I think Monzon beats Hagler, Hearns, B-Hop, JT, SRL.

Certainly in the Top 3 Middleweights of all time, very tall and had a wicked right hand.
Hagler was lucky to miss him by 12 months or so as i'm sure they would have fought by 1979.
Monzon retired in 1978. Monzon would have beaten Hagler, Hearns and SRL in epic battles!
What a shame he was an Asshole!

I'm surprised he still had that extra something to beat guys like Benvenuti, and Griffith when I read about his lifestyle, and bad habits. He was one helluva fighter that's for sure.
If I'm not mistaken he was from Argentina, around that time they also had Nicoline Locche who was a very skilled welterweight champion in his day.

It's a pitty too because he was such a great fighter in the ring. He was very versatile, could even fight off his back foot when he needed to. I haven't seen much on him in books, not even Nat Fischer covered much about him.

I always remember him fighting Tony Liccata who I beleive was 60 and 0. For 2 rds Liccata was in the fight, after that he was battered for 8 rds. Dundee should have pulled him out after 7, I dont think he boxed again after that it was brutal.
