Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
Sunday 24th June 2007
Jose Luis Castillo last night gave a merciless beating to Britain's Ricky Hatton for 8 rounds of their schedule 12 rounds IBO light welterweight title fight. Hatton took the fight to Castillo from the start. Castillo who's took en flush shots shots from the murderous puncher the late Diego Corrales waited for him with open arms. Both men let there hands go from the start, as they hit each other with every thing they had in a round of the year candidate first round. Midway through the second Castillo concentrated his attack to Hatton's rib cage. And that's were the fight, which was still pretty even turned. Hatton immediately changed his course of attack and began back pedaling backwards protecting his body. Castillo was relentless. He hammered Hatton against the ropes. Attacking both body and head. He opened up a cut above Hatton's right eye in the 4th round. By the 5th round Hatton pale white skin was bright red from Castillo's non-stop attack. After taking a breather in the 6th, Castillo again turned up his attack in the 7th. He hammered Hatton through out the whole round, before dropping him in his corner with only seconds left. The bell saved Hatton, but only for the moment. Castillo immediately jumped on Hatton dropping him to his knees with a wicked body shot. Hatton got up to one knee than proceeded to watch the referee count him out. Castillo jumped up, celebrating his victory. He than dedicated the win to his former arch rival Diego "Chico" Corrales.
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
You really think it will be out and out war from the first?! ::**
Sorry Violent D, I just cannot see Hatton falling for that one! ;D
Hatton will avoid war for as long as needs be and probably execute what he did against Urango for the opening stanza. I can then see Castillo pressing because of the lost rounds and Hatton being able to land more freely because of Castillo being willing to let his hands go. Sure Hatton will get caught, but Castillo at this stage will not have enough to stop Hatton nor win enough rounds.
Should be a cracking fight, I cannot wait!
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
You know Demise u may not be a million miles from the truth with this post i think Ricky either shines and comes of age or he gets stopped with bodyshots in 8-10 round :)
i hope he wins tho.
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!

Ive just seen the Hatton stops him in 3 thread. I presume this is a satirical response to that now. If not then not to worry! ;D
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
Castillo is about twice as fast as Juan Urango, who got to Hattons body no problem. Castillo also will make Ricky pay if he tries to tie up, hes a vet who knows how to rough you up inside. Ricky will catch some shot to his ears if he holds in this one.
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
The Castillo who got into that all-out war with the late Diego Corrales? I'd bet on him over Hatton. The lackluster Castillo on the other side of two weigh-in fiascos, who looked like a shadow of his former self in his last fight? I'm not quite so sure.
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
all pressure on Hatton. Dont look past Castillo talking about fighting the DeLahoyas and Mayweathers, Hatton is in for a big slugfest via Jose Luis Castillo, bang bang to the rib cage from the getco

I bet you've been practicing writing that for the last 3 months. ;D
Hope your wrong but if Castillo can rough him up inside and score with the uppercut then you may be right.
I DON'T THINK SO AND RICKY WILL HAVE HIM OUT OF THERE IN 10,castillo will age from 8 onwards and won't be able to keep up the pace Hatton sets.
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
I think Hatton might be too quick for Castillo after Castillo last fight. Maybe its starving or maybe its something else, but he seemed to be very drained in his post Corrales fights.

I have yet to see a fight in which Castillo tires at the end. If anything he seems to get stronger as the fight goes on.
Re: Castillo tortures Hatton! Stops him in 8!
