Holland ended brave England's European Championship hopes with a dramatic 13-12 sudden death penalty shoot-out victory in Heerenveen.

Gianni Zuiverloon scored the crucial winning penalty in the 16th round of spot-kicks to send the hosts and holders into the final after Anton Ferdinand had seen his penalty come back off the crossbar.

Maceo Rigters' last-gasp goal cancelled out Leroy Lita's first half opener to force the game into extra-time and the marathon shoot-out.

Dutch full-back Gianni Zuiverloon had the first shot on goal after 18 minutes when he latched onto Daniel de Ridder's pass and drove his shot over the crossbar.

De Ridder had a sight of goal on 23 minutes, but the winger dragged his shot well wide of the target.

Its nice to our U21s can take penalties as the senior team fucking suck. But fucking hell are we ever gonna get any luck, and how the fuck did Scott Carson only save one penalty and concede 13, thats pretty shit. Seriously we are leading 1-0 til the 89th min and the centre half twists his ankle so he can't defend a cross and they score WTF and then we lose a player to injury so we've got 9 fit players and 1 playing on 1 leg, all that bad luck and Holland still manage to score 13 fucking penalties. Until they abolish shootouts England will never win anything >:mad

Although we got beat it was brilliant when Taylor fired his in. There were a lot of class penalties to be fair. It always looked like the luck was going to run out for us, we held on by the skin of our teeth twice but couldnt do it the third. The penalty spot looked like something you'd see on the parks on a Sunday afternoon, in a terrible state it was.

They worked their asses off and they should be proud but how fucking annoying is it to lose the same way everytime to teams we are much better than. The first half was a piece of piss, and then ENgland do what they always do start dropping deeper and deeper, giving the ball away over and over again, lumping it forward. Its like a disease, we have no composure we get in the lead against a team and all of sudden we stop playing football and just start defending for our lives. I'm sorry that Holland team is nothing special we should have rolled them over but as soon as we take the lead against a side we forget how to pass the ball, it kills me. I mean if the senior lose to Portugal again I'll kill myself because we are so much better than them its a joke but we just don't know how to keep a ball under pressure, correction when wearing an England shirt we don't know how to keep a ball, its easy in a Man U or Chelsea shirt.

and don't get me started on penalties AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
Ashley Young should be immediately promoted to the Euro 2008 squad for scoring 2 penalties in one game that should be the selection policy for major tournaments from now on

It was unreal England looked composed enough and the Dutch looked like they were gonna blew it i was thinking back to when they went out at home on Penalties to Italy .

Oh well nevermind at least it looks like the future is bright enough can't believe James Milner is still under 21 he's been around for ever .
