I'll give him 9 out of 10 for that performance, always room for improvement but that was easily the best Ricky Hatton we've seen since the Tszyu fight, his punching power and strength were the best he's ever had.
Is he strong enough for 147? Maybe, if he had a tune up at 144lbs that would be ideal but he no longer has time for that, he's gonna be striking while the iron is hot, and this will be the biggest question mark in his next fight, I hope people write him off again to be honest because I think with 14-16 weeks of preparation he can be good at 147lbs.
Was it an exciting fight.... Do bears shit in the woods? ;) I thought my heart was going to stop!
Is that "Yoitsdan"?
Yeah it is, about time for a change I reckon.Quote:

Hatton went through a blip i compared it to Miguel Cottos blip before the Paulie M fight when he was struggling all fighters have them .
As for the fight vintage Hatton i thought that Prick Prima Donna Joe Cortez was going to ruin it and stop Hatton from Mauling inside but luckily he let both men work .
Hatton excecuted his game plan perfectly he caught Castillio with some good shots and Castillio looked as if he might be coming back into it ...........slowly but i gave every round to Rick .
The finisher was a killer to do that to a Mexican with so many fights is something else i thought after round 3 it was going to be a long one .
What fucked me off about the commentary was Duke McKenzie constantly critisising Ricky for working up close , the fighter knows where he feels at home and Ricky knew he had his number from the 1st round !
A fighter knows!
Great performence and a great night !
I guess you gotta give him full marks as he did everything that was asked of him. It's a shame that Castillo just didn't turn up, he's completely shot as a fighter I think, in fact him and Gatti will probably get it on later in the year.
I guess I'll never like Hatton's style he's just like John Ruiz to me but he did all that was asked so I'll give him 10/10
10/10 and John Ruiz in the same sentance, there's something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime, that is unless the question preceding it was.......Quote:

"On a scale of 1 to 10 how bad did he get knocked out by David Tua?"
I'd give it 6 out of 10 he was very scrapping still holding and grappling when their was no need he should'nt be holding that much.
Would he be effective if he moves up we will find out the big names are all their Mosely,Cotto,Margerito,Mayweather if he does'nt retire and even De La Hoya.
Exciting it was more frustrating for me the holding really does my head in the atmosphere of the fight was exciting.
I'm no Hatton fan but I give him 8? Like I have been reiterating time and time again,Hatton looked bad in his last few fights for a few reeasons, the main ones being styles and lack of motivation. It showed tonight. He looked pumped from the beginning. I just cannot appreciate his style, but I have learnt to respect it. It was a good win and he earnt me another Sig win! :D :D :D
I personally don't think he will be effective with that style at 147 and I don't think he should move up unless its for big $$$> The guys at 147 are much bigger, much stronger and his holding and hitting tactics would not work there imo. He would get bullied, and he would be a small WW too.
As for the fight being exciting,it was quite exciting. After the first round,I knew it would not live up to my hype,I was expcting a FOTY contender. It was too one sided but was still good to watch.
I really don't like his style though! ;D :D
:coolclick: You pretty much see him how I see him El Gamo. I actually really like him a lot as a person and always root for him but as a fighter he just bores me rigid.Quote:

Ph crap,we actually agree on a fighter Bilbo! CC back. Ok ok,I give him a 9,not 10,that would be perfect! I really like him as a person too. Who can forget when he licked his hand and gelled down Merchant's hair! One of the greatest moments ever!
You mean this :DQuote:

i've watched it three times and actually when the ref warned for holding when he stopped time... he did that when castillo was shoving hatton about 7 feet back into the ropes..
and also after the first round castillo was clinching too..
hatton foot work was great he hit castillo with hard left hooks to the body about 13 times before he dropped him with it...
hatton smothered castillo's offense and had castillo confused from the start at the angles he was giving him and hatton being able too walk through his punches discourged castillo..
hatton can compete with cotto i dont care what anyone says ;D
Totally agree with you Fire, some people are going on about how Hatton was holding again last night when to me it was Castillo doing alot of the holding after the first round. Ricky was hitting Castillo with some nice bodypunches. hooks and uppercuts and Castillo also was catching Hatton with some nice shots until he took the sledgehammer of a body shot. 9 out of 10 for me cause he was just all over Castillo imop. Its amazing how different people can see a fight!!Quote:
