Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
By Paul Upham: Roy Jones Jr has to deal with the undefeated Anthony Hanshaw first on July 14, but the former pound for pound best in boxing leader says he is ready to take on a come-backing Felix “Tito” Trinidad, if the Puerto Rican great is serious about a return.

Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
jones would slaughter tito espically due to the long period of inactivity that trinidad has experienced for a great while
roy sees this potential match as the cash cow that it would be. theres no risk in this fight for rjj

Tito would be well out of his depth at Supermiddleweight and Lightheavyweight.
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
sorry imo Jones wins no matter what, no way this fight is going to happen anywhere above 160 for Tito and no way is Jones going down to 160, Jones may not be the p4p Jones that would beat anyone, but he does still have the tools and speed to beat Tito, and IMO beat him badly, a Trinidad comeback is not really a bad thing but he should be looking for first of all, tune up fights, and second of all fights against the likes of Kelly Pavlik, Jermain Taylor, Edison Miranda, Felix Sturm, Cory Spinks, or even drop down to 154 and fight fellow compatriot Daniel Santos as a warm up fight
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
So you are saying that this fight match up is a show to see what Oscar or other will do or offer?
O sea le esta metiendo las cabras a Oscar o a PBF a ver que dicen o Hacen?
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
tito is a known KO artist. roy might get gun shy and run dance around the ring doing nothing for 12rds like he did in the 3rd tarver fight.

good match yet if Jones wants it so much he must think it is an easy win for him. Jones never called out a great challenge. I know I will get some sad clicks for this one but it is true. Jones is too excited to fight Tito. he knows he can stop Tito since Tito has not fought at supermiddleweight ever and Tito has been inactive for 2 years.

Roy has been very inactive aswell in all fairness..
I dont think roy has the same knockout power anymore either..and i think the fact that tito has only had a couple of high contact fights could work to his advantage when it comes to being inactive in a battle of past prime legends..
But still ..all factors does make for an interesting fight imo ;)
Im still not sure its the right fight for either guy really.. Or that it prooves anything but who has more gas left out of two half full legendary cans..Lol
Peace
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
I agree that RJJ is not the best fight for Tito. For me, there's too much weight difference. As someone said, Jones will probably not come down to 160. And Tito has never ventured above that weight.
If Tito's serious about the comeback, there's lots of other intriguing matchups that could be made. Personally, and even though they're both past their prime, I still think the public would eat up a match between Tito and De La Hoya (myself included). There's also Jermaine Taylor.
Hell, even a rematch against Bernard wouldn't be out of the question, assuming BHop sticks around that long. He's probably close to retiring by this time.
But the bottom line is Tito's mentality in coming back. IMO, he's got absolutely nothing to prove, or add to his already legendary status. (Was watching some old Tito fights the other day and got kinda nostalgic for the good ol' days). But if he's serious about coming back, all the more power to him. Boxing misses him as much as he misses boxing.
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
Tito needs a tune up. You dont come back and fight Roy Jones without one and Jones obviously isnt what he was but hes been more active than Tito.
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
i don't see the point in this fight. pretty pointless. jones would beat trinidad at light heavy quite easy in my opinion.
trinidad should have a tune up fight then face golden boy .
Re: Jones says he’s ready for Trinidad comeback fight
remember tito wan pbf
tito at smw maybe he can box good ay that weight
at 175 hell naw
