jump rope improvement--ankle weights
Does wearing light ankle weights (2.5 each) really make you lighter on your feet when jumping rope? I've been wearing 2.5s and have noticed a difference but I wear just above my shoes when jumping. Should they be placed in a specific spot on the ankle to get the optimal benefit, if any? I have also heard that it is bad for the joints in the calf and foot.

Back to the question Ex, No they wont they wont make the muscle neurons react any qiucker thats the bottom line. It will cause an inbalance in muscular form.
Re: jump rope improvement--ankle weights
So skipping with a weighted belt/jacket is strictly meant to be a strengthening exercise then Scrap? Would you try to do short explosive rounds rather than longer rounds then?
Re: jump rope improvement--ankle weights
Belt or jacket are Ok they are above the centre of gravity. On the ankles theres an imbalance with the adductors. Have a think.
