Quintana Berto on the cards.
I've just read Carlos Quintana is coming back soon. A 3 fight deal is being worked out, with first bout would coming in the first week of August, the second may land on the Sept. 29 undercard to Jermain Taylor-Kelly Pavlik in Atlantic City, and the third would be a year-end clash with Berto.
Thoughts?
Re: Quintana Berto on the cards.
Berto gets schooled if they fight right now, he's too raw.
Re: Quintana Berto on the cards.
I'm happy Quintana is coming back, he is a VERY good fighter. He has probably the best jab in the division. I am going to wait to see how Berto looks against Rivera but I really think this is moving him fast. But, it would be 2008 when the Olympians from the 4 years before start getting their cracks at the top.

I like Quintana. He has a future in this sport. I think him an Cintron would be a good fight.
Re: Quintana Berto on the cards.
I think Quintana is a well schooled fighter, very slick & sound technically. At this point though I'd still favor Berto to be victorious!

I think first thing we need to do is see how he has recovered from the Cotto loss. He was man handled and the confidence beaten pretty bad
Re: Quintana Berto on the cards.
Berto won't be beat unless it is against an elite slick, slick boxer/puncher. He is just to powerful and accurate.
Re: Quintana Berto on the cards.
If power, accuracy and speed were all that mattered then Zab Judah would be pound for pound number 1.
He's still got a lot of bad habits, or I should say prospect tendencies since that's what they are. He has a real wide stance, especially when he lunges in and it makes it so he really opens up up top. He tends to throw the same combinations over and over again. He has a bad habit of going out the same way he came in over and over again and there are a few other things.
Not major and stuff he has compensated for, but the elite can make him pay for it. It's my feeling that provided the Cotto beatdown hasn't taken to much from him (which is in no way a certainty), that Quintana has the tools to beat Berto.
