too square on
Been told that im standing to square on think its coz in the past ive been keeping my back heel to high off the ground and putting too much weight on the left leg and allowing my right shoulder to creep forward making me more square on to my opponent.I have bee trying to correct it by keeping my back heel down a bit and conciously keeping my right shoulder back but it feels really weird now like my right hand has a lot further to travel coz i can only reach the same distance as my jab when my right is at full extension with a full pivot of the back foot and as a result have become a bit shy about throwing it which makes me feel like im just boxing with my left hand.Does anyone have any tips on how to make it feel more natural or is it just a case of sticking with it,i think i may have been doing this for a long time so it may take a long time to correct ???

Re: too square on
how can i check if they are out of line...

Re: too square on
One simple way is put your legs up a wall with your arse against the wall both hips firmly on the floor. Drop your toes and get somebody to see if your heals are level. Another way is looking at the kneck and shoulders but you have to know what youre looking at to understand.

Re: too square on
years ago my cousin had a sore back. his buddy who was a chiropractor came over to the house...i happened to be there...so he put him on a picnic table on his stomach, had him bend at the knees, and compared the level of his heels. They were off by at least 3/4 of an inch.
