Amonsot with brain injury
great fight last night but Sadly, however, Amonsot is currently in the hospital with a brain bleed. The 21-year old was sent immediately after the fight, as ringside physician Jeff Davidson was concerned about the head shots that he took during the bout. It turned out that Amonsot suffered a small subdural hematoma, which will more likely than not end his career, though thankfully it is not life-threatening. These things happen in boxing, yet it's never something that I become desensitized to. It puts into perspective just how tough these fighters are, and how risky a career choice they've made. God bless them for making it and entertaining us all, best wishes to Czar Amonsot and his loved ones.
Re: Amonsot with brain injury
Czar Amonsot has now the "Valero Syndrome". I just hope could continue fighting in any country.
However, as for the moment he still under observation. The injury might not be that bad after all.

It was like watching a rooster fight (cockfight ;D). Katz looked bloody and his face almost diformed but actually he was more inflecting serious damage. My blood and guts fight of the year so far.
Get well soon Czar and Michael. Both of you captured many viewer's heart last night.
Amonsot, Larios both suffer brain injuries
http://www.sportsnut.com.au/category.php?intid=7
Oscar Larios of Mexico and Czar Amonsot of the Philippines both suffered brain bleeds in their hard-fought losses on Saturday night's Bernard Hopkins-Winky Wright undercard at Mandalay Bay.
Neither injury, however, is life threatening, according to Keith Kizer, the executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission.
JUST SAW THIS REPORT ON THE TWO OF THEM. BRUTAL GAME. ALL THE RESPECT IN THE WORLD TO THE WARRIORS WHO PARTICIPATE.
Re: Amonsot, Larios both suffer brain injuries
Damn Larios too. I hope both these guys are alright. Real sad to hear this after both guys fought their hearts out.
Re: Amonsot, Larios both suffer brain injuries
Oscar Larios is I think the 3rd most respected foreign boxer who fought in the Phil. Just behind Frazier and Ali (thrilla in manila).
He captured most Pinoys heart including me when he fought Pac there. Get well soon Oscar and Czar.
Re: Amonsot, Larios both suffer brain injuries
It's a real tragedy especially for Czar who was just starting to make it on the world scene. Larios has had a lot of success and big paydays and probably would have retired soon anyway.
But Czar's money making days from boxing are over.,

Katsidis now wants Diaz
Michael Katsidis is targeting Juan Diaz after winning fans and plaudits for his thrilling but damaging title fight victory over Filipino boxer Czar Amonsot.
I think Diaz will beat him. Katsidis is too easy to hit.
Amonsot, Brain Clot or no Clot?
http://philboxing.com/news/story-11720.html
I'm getting confused now :-\, Does he really have a blood clot in his brain?
More info's please.
Thanks :)
Re: Amonsot with brain injury
just watched the local news and it seems that the tiny blood clot is just a...well a tiny blood clot. i dunno if he will still be allowed to fight, but he is definitely out of danger. the MRi scan will decide whether amonsot will be allowed to fight in US soil.
Re: Amonsot with brain injury
Best wishes to him and his family, what a great show he put on. Who was on here saying he has no chin? Looked like he had a great chin in that fight.

It was me! :'( Guilty as charged.
I was basing on his last lost against Simson Butar-butar. He difinitely proved me wrong. So shame on me.
He's only 21. I hope he'll get better soon and see more of his fights in the US.
Re: Amonsot with brain injury
Well it takes a bigger man to admit when he's wrong. I should know I'm wrong alot ;) CC to Pacstraightleft
Re: Amonsot with brain injury
