September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
3 of these 4 happen on september 29th, what a day thats gonna be :o.
Only one of these involves a title but these matches could have a significant impact on the future of their respective divisions.
Is Vitali capable of coming back and cleaning out the division and would it be meaningful for him to do so?
Can Mora step up to the plate and continue climbing the middleweight ranks and eventually be a major factor?
Is Valuev worth anything since he lost and if he can comeback, exactly how much pull will he have on the future?
Can Taylor win again against tough opposition and legitimize his title reign to the naysayers and how long will he keep it going?
Now obviously there's their opponents side of the story and its up to debate what would happen from their end if they won these fights.
I'm going with the taylor-pavlick fight simply because it answers more questions than the other fights do as far as I can see right now. The heavyweight picture is murky enough no need to add another shark to the pond, I'm not sold on mora becoming that great, and I fully believe valuev has lost his novelty since he lost.
Re: September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
It's gotta be Taylor Vs Pavlick IMO. Taylors gonna have to get his ass in gear or he is gonna be knock out!
Re: September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
Yeah, this seems a very easy choice for me, cause Taylor v Pavlik is the stand-out fight...far above anything else listed. Probably the only one I'd be really interested in watching too if i'm honest.
Re: September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
The other fights have pretty much zero importance. Taylor-Pavlik is so important to boxing.
I'd change the poll to "what is the best fight in September?"
Add Mayorga vs. Vargas and Diaz vs. Morales and you're more likely to get a variety of answers in the poll.

Even with those, I still think that it is Taylor v Pavlik all the way, and 80% plus are going to be going with that one.

Yeah, but if anyone says that any of those fights in this poll are more important than Taylor vs. Pavlik, then they're simpletons.
Re: September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
Mark me down as Taylor/Pavlik vote number 8.
Mora/Ouma would be my back up option.
Re: September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
Pretty clearly Taylor/Pavlik.
Although I'm sure there will be a lot of people anxious to see Vitali again. That will just get bigger as it comes up.
Re: September is a big month for the Middleweights and Heavyweights...
Taylor/Pavlik.. but i cannot wait to see Mora get beat up!

From a short term perspective yes taylor pavlick is by far the most important but the other three down the road could lead to significant events in their division.

Surely there is nothing significant about Nikolai Valuev?

Like i said up top, i believe that too but there are those that say i keep selling mora and valuev short.

Hold up there lil' fella, I would have to say there are some rather significant things about Nikolay Valuev.
His waist, chest size and hat size immediately leap to mind.

Taylor-Pavlik, hands down. I'm not a big fan of Taylor's, but I respect the fact that he consistently gets in the ring with quality opposition. BHop twice, Winky, even Ouma and Spinks. Pavlik is a legitimate contender, with a good shot, IMO. Hats off to Taylor for doing his job and defending against better opponents.
