Disconnected Setanta Sports - but they have Calzaghe v Kessler

Had enough of being held to ransom by tv companies so cancelled Setanta today (took the deal out for Hatton and first 3 months for 15 quid) as I believe many people are doing

Anyway they have the Calzaghe v Kessler fight exclusively on November 3rd.

This is a real pain in the ass as will mean I won't be able to get it without resigning up - most of the local pubs have got rid of Sky too due to increasing costs. None of them have Setanta thats for sure.

It's getting ridiculous. No wonder the ordinary man on the street with terrestrial TV has not heard of Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hopkins etc... Even us boxing fans are suffering now the tv rights have split and you have to subscribe to different ones to keep up with the boxing and footie >:mad

There's BT Vision now - don't even know what the fuck that is or what its showing ???

yes it is free if you have setanta - they are not doing anything on a ppv basis

tried telling setanta I didn't want racing channel, celtic tv, rangers tv, liverpool tv, NASN, golf channel etc.. but the deal is all or nothing. With SKY now at 45 a month , phone line 11 a month and broadband 18 a month there is no way I am paying another 10 a month.

Enough is enough ! fucking tv companies

sick of people complaining about boxing not being on terrestrial tv. What do you think BBC or ITV would pay for big money fights involving mayweather, Hopkins, Da La Hoya etc.

As a SKY subscriber I expect Sky to show the big fights as I am paying for that service. I also have Setanta and for £9.99 what they offer is value for money. obviously if your not into football it might not interest you but as a package it is great value.

You can watch it online via the Setanta web site, admitadly you will have to sign up with them again (via their website) but you can do this for only one month. I did this for the Hatton fight it was a tenner for the fight and one months worth of Setanta, the quality of the fight was great.

Also do you know anyone with the virgin media TV package (formerly telewest i believe)? as the large package on Virgin media now includes Setanta sports free.

SKY have picked up recently showing:
Hopkins vs. Wright
Baldomir vs. Forrest
Malignaggi's last fight (forgot who he fought)
Margarito vs. Williams
Amonsot vs. Katsidis
Andrade's last fight (damn my crap memory)
and
Cintron vs. Mathysse

They need to keep getting the big fights.

I've also given the month's notice on my account, and will not be resubscribing, mainly as I don't think it offers value for money. They only have a fraction of the live football that Sky show, and as I don't follow Scottish or Irish, it doesn't make sense for me.

Also, I'm going to be in the stadium for Calzaghe v Kessler, and I'm sure someone somewhere will record the fight for me.

It's not on PPV this one but commercial free (during the fight) and only available through subscription.

I did not subscribe to Setanta for the Hatton fight because I mistakenly thought Eurosport would show it 6 months later but no sign of that yet. I will have to subscribe to them to watch the Galzaghe fight. Sky have missed some major fights including Morales v Pacquia 3, Roy Jones and I do not think they will show Vargas fright and Morales v Diaz
