Ibragimov, Chagaev to make history!
http://www.fightnews.com/boxing/bc/warriors115.htm
For the first time in boxing history, fighters representing the post-Soviet countries will clash to unite the heavyweight world titles. It is also the first heavyweight unification bout to ever take place outside the United States. The last heavyweight unification bout was held back in 1999,
Anyone excited for this fight? WHo wins?
Re: Ibragimov, Chagaev to make history!
Not hugely excited. Think Chagaev wins. Hopefully whoever wins takes on Wladdy.

These are sad times. :'(
Re: Ibragimov, Chagaev to make history!
it's not so sad...it'll make boxing bigger in the US once we have someone to come and take out all these guys which will of course be post Klitschko's.
Chagaev will whip Sultan's ass....and Wlad-Chagaev will be a big time fight providing Ruslan is man enough to make it happen, we all know Wlad will take the fight.

I think Wlad will still be around for awhile after he's dethroned. I agree that chagaev will beat sultan and inturn lose to wlad. After thats all done with, a vitali-valuev match would be great just for novelty alone. Maybe the heavyweight scene isn't as bad as its been said to be.
Re: Ibragimov, Chagaev to make history!
When it's all said and done, at any weight unification is a good thing, and this fight is an excellent styles match up, it's 2 of the most active and well rounded heavyweights in the division, hoping to unify. It should be one of the best heavyweight events since Lewis v Klitschko. (Although thats not saying much at all)
Re: Ibragimov, Chagaev to make history!
I would say Chagaev. I still can't get Sultan's draw with Ray Austin out of my head. And I'm not sure what beating Briggs really means, the guy can punch but he's barely conscious.
I would say Chagaev and Tony Thompson are the two best behind Wlad, maybe Povetkin in a year or two.
Re: Ibragimov, Chagaev to make history!
A would like to see more fights from Chagaev but I think he has a shot against any other HW at this time.
