Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
OK here is the thing. I have never been to a fight. Not ever. Most of the big fights don't take place anywhere near hear. And even if they did have fights round here, the prices of tickets for seats close enough where you can actually enjoy the fight are just to steep for me.
Why should I spend several hundread or sometimes over a thousand dollars when I can at most spend 50 bucks and have a much better view. I mean it's not like baseball or football where you have this huge stadium and you can see everything from most seats. A boxing ring is pretty small by comparison and I don't see how you can appreciate the action as much.
But as I said I have never been to one so I could be dead wrong on everything I just said. What is your opinion on this?

Yes, it's one of the best experiences you can have.
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
No matter what any of us say....you live once, and if you are a fan of boxing you have to go at least once. I'd go to every major fight and even some that aren't if i could, i even enjoyed my live mma experience.
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
You should definetly go to a fight. My son and I usually go to one or two big fights each year. We were at Hatton vs. Castillo which was a great time (thanks you UK fans). We recently went to Diaz vs. Frietas which was one of the best fights I've seen live. I like the live fights much more than going to a baseball or football game.
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
I mean't Hatton vs. Collazzo in Boston, not Castillo in Vegas. A mistake already and I haven't even started drinking.

Do it at least once, i live in OZ so we don't get many big fights down here but i have seen Fenech V Nelson, Tszyu V Leija and Mundine V Kessler first hand and it's a great atmosphere and the build up to the main event is something you cannot experience at home.
It is expensive but worth it.
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
Being at a big fight is better than any other sporting event I've attended. And I've been to Super Bowls, NBA playoffs, College National Championships. There's an electricity in the air second to none.
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
I'ver never been to a fight either...I've been to dozens of college football....several college basketball...NASCAR races....international soccer games but no fights...I'd love to go to a big fight, but none really in this area....my only issue is how well you can actually see the action...especially considering I wouldn't be able to afford a top notch ticket

I've sat at the top of the arena before. You can see the action, but viewing on tv you'd obviously see it better. If you can sit in an arena in the lower area, it's worth it. IMO
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
Man do it once .I have only been to two big fights ,(PPF VS Gatti) was one It was well worth it. I met Buddy McGirt in a mall before the fight ,it was cool got pics with him and everything. Also met Max Kellerum .
And years ago I saw Terry Norris vs Vincent Petway .That was really cool. Got to go to the press conference and met Terry and Orlin ,Two great guys talked with them for a while at the press conf. I also met Georgy Benton ,Oliver Mcall , and a few others. Best time I have had as a fan of boxing.
Try doing all that watching it on TV. ;D

Please believe me when I say that it is worth EVERY single penny.
I've been to several fights and I love every single one of them. I will say tho that if I can't get seats within the 1st 5 rows and in the middle area I won't purchase tickets, I just feel that if I'm gonna spend the money I might as well go all out and spend it up. So I always try to get ringside seats.
I love going to event's period. Baseball games, football games, Motorcross, basketball games, Hockey.... Any good reason to buy beer and enjoy and event is good for me.
Trust me man, it's a must do for any boxing fan to attend an event it's the experience of a lifetime.
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
All the fights are I have been were in Puerto Rico I still want to go to one in the US. but I can say they are all worth it.
:boxingmatch: :boxing:
I mean I'm there with my bros yelling getting exited about a KO and K-downs and OF course BEER babe BEER and Whisky
;D ;) :beerchug:
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
EVEN LOCAL FIGHTS ARE GREAT!!
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
Being at a live bout gives it so much more...It is truly an event....Everyone in attendance is amped...it truly is a thing to experience....
Even better when you get to sit so close you are having a conversation with a cornerman during the fight :D
Re: Is being on a fight live actually worth it?
Yeah boxing has to be up there with the very best spectator sports. The action in the ring, the loudness of the shots and the intensity of the crowd makes it worth it.
I think the only live sports experience that tops boxing is hockey.
