I'm pretty bored so just some mythical fights. Who wins, why? Whenever you think these guys were at their best, for example, McGirt of the Simon Brown or Pernell fights, whenever. If you don't care about the lighter weights just don't answer them.

some interesting fights. I find it almost impossible to speculate on fights with guys like Wilde versus modern day guys. Just such a big difference in fighting styles, size (not in that case), even rules.Quote:

Pernell was only like 29 or 30 when he moved up and fought McGirt at welter. That was like 6 or 7 years before he fought Tito. He wasn't past it then, he beat McGirt twice, Chavez-a draw I know but come on-went up to 154 and beat Julio Ceasar Vazquez-had already beaten Winky I think, I know it wasn't the best Winky but still- so I think if he had fought Hearns at 147 at say 29 to his early 30's he wouldn't have been past it at all. I think its just a question of would he have been able to do enough offensively against Hearns.
Mosley-Meldrick Taylor at 135-140 is an interesting one.
Your right my bad, but I still think he would have problems being a southpaw against Hearns because Hearns was so good at landing that right hand, and Hearns had faster hands than WHitaker. I am not sure if Hearns could knock him out, but if anyone could it would be him. I think if Whitaker was a bigger puncher or a better inside fighter this fight would be different, but its virtually impossible for a guy with his good, but not exceptional speed to make up the height and reach difference against Thomas Hearns. The only I ever thought would have a chance of countering Hearns on the outside is Roy JOnes Jr., but he is bigger, faster, and taller than Whitaker.

Hearns-Pernell Whitaker at 147 Hearns on points it's too tough to look better than Tommy Hearns on defense and win.

Ali V Lewis Both guys had trouble with guys who could jab but I think Ali's speed gives him the edge but if he got tied up or caught a right cross it would be Lennox by stoppage
