Saddoboxing.com Fantasy Football Signups

OK, so I know BG made a topic about it a long while ago after the Super Bowl and now that the preseason is officially upon us, I think it's about time we get this going. He asked me to take care of it so I will.

So...as of right now here is where we are.

I say we use ESPN.com as I've found it to be the easiest to use and the best of the free ones. If anyone has any objection to this let me know.

Right now there are 9 spots open. If there is any sort of ddemand for more, we'll just do 2 leagues and the winner of each championship game, the person who has the more points wins. Or something to that extent we can figure that out as we move along.

The draft date is what I want to get figured out after the signups. The last possible date is the 24th, hopefully the signups are done in a weeks time and we can figure it out from there. Maybe a vote or I'll pose dates to everyone.

So...who wants to play?

I'm in, just let me know what i gotta do so I can make sure I join the right league.

I do pretty well at these. Last time I was in a league, I lost the championship game. So I finished 2nd.

What I'll probably end up doing is making the league private (you have to actually) and then just sending out email invites. So once I get enough signups for the league, I'll ask for everyone's email and send them invitations. That would be fairly easy I hope. If you guys don't have accounts on ESPN, just make one once the league is up and if you don't want to send out your email just make the account using a bugmenot.com temporary email and it should be easy enough.

Again...if anyone has a better idea then let me know. Or if you want to send me your email ahead of time that's cool to. Either way doesn't matter really. The search on ESPN pretty much sucks though so that's the only reason I think it's best to do it that way and I don't think you can be directly linked either.

I'm in. I'd recommend nfl.com as i've used it before and it seemed pretty straight forward as well but they're all probably about the same.

What configuration are you doing? (how many active players, etc.)

So far we just need 5 more players. Or 3 if we had to but I'm sure there are 5 out there willing to play. I think we could get that.

As for the configuration, just the standard one with one starting QB, a RB, a slash RB/WR, 2 WR, a TE and a defense. That's off memory but I'm pretty sure that's right. I'll actually create the league here shortly for those that have already joined.

Stupid question - how does fantasy football work? I assume you pick a bunch of players and get points based upon their stats?
