I'm not happy about Bika being in the mix. I've seen and heard enough of about him to last me a lifetime.

I tend to agree... I think he is gonna give a buntch of these guys fits... If you can beat up on The Pride of Wales then you pretty much can mix it up with anyone at SMW!

I'll get excited when they do away with the hokey over produced theme of the show...Make the show about tough fighters and great fights not the overdrawn cliches of the inner city kid done well or family man winning one for his mother who has cancer and raised him as a single parent working three jobs etc etc

They were trying to mainstream it by making it into a soap opera... But thats not boxing... I'm glad ESPN took the reigns!

Nah, you know what he's sayin... The soap operaesk undertone and feel of the show
Re: "The Contender"... Finally legit!!!!!!!!!!
Its not that they haven't had some compelling stories...I just made up the cancer part to make a point...I just want to see fights without the overhyped and produced story lines.

Careful you don't want 'Big' Dan McCarthy seeing this, he'll think you're disturbed and may even give you the finger ;)

Sad that they have to do that shit to sell boxing to fans and try to win them back but the sport hasn't been doing its self any favors for the last.... What... 30 years!

Not that, lol! ;D
Re: "The Contender"... Finally legit!!!!!!!!!!
I think David Banks has a great shot at this... Great speed and due to the length of the fights, if this kid poors it on I don't see him losing! Great Prospect with strangly enough little amatuer experience.

Dont let anyone tell you otherwise, that is funny and true.
Nice update Boston I haven't followed the Contender and had no idea how much they've improved upon it.
But no more slow-mo and sound effects ??? How are we supposed to know if a punch landed without sound effects?

You'll never know when they're landing shots... Guess we should listen to Jim Lamply... Shit, he doesn't even know ;D

Sorry BG, but you gotta be harsh in this game, and if there aren't at least three different types of cancer attacking three seperate parts of the body, my sympathy will have to be won.
Now then, maybe if it was a family man whose wife and mother had cancer...and he was raising their 7 children (at least one adopted) and caring for wife and mum, whilst still boxing professionally, then my sympathy is won.
