Yes, very sad news indeed.
Wilson played a pivotal role in the Manchester music scene. New Order built up a reputation as Joy Division so I wouldnt say he invented New Order.
Regardless, a seemingly interesting and intelligent guy. Its always sad when anyone passes away.
