Alejandro Berrio v Lucian Bute for IBF super-middle title
http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...AutiXqlJH.html
Berrio is going to be making the first defence of his Super-Middleweight title against up-and-coming prospect Lucian Bute, although originally Romanian is now based in Canada. And Berrio is going to montreal to do it, so I reckon this is a coming-of-age fight for Bute, and that if he wins it'd make a great ifght with the winner of Calzaghe v Kessler.
Berrio did well to get the belt in Germany, but it is going to be a very different prospect against this guy.
Re: Alejandro Berrio v Lucian Bute for IBF super-middle title
Seems like Berrio is selling the belt, going all the way to Canada just makes it even easier for Bute, I'm sure he'll fight 100% tooth and nail, and train very hard, but it's a big advantage to just give away, clearly Berrio had a price he couldn't refuse.
Re: Alejandro Berrio v Lucian Bute for IBF super-middle title
This is one of those darkhorse fights that could tuen out to be superb. I fancy Bute but Berrio obviously believes in his power and thinks he can KTFO Bute. I think Berrio KTFO the previously undefeated Stieglitz for the title if I remember correctly and that was in Steiglitz back yard. Definitely cheering for Berrio in this one!
Re: Alejandro Berrio v Lucian Bute for IBF super-middle title
I've kind of calmed a bit on Bute. I still think he's definitely a good prospect but he has some issues IMO.
I'd favor him but he better be careful, he could be beating the shit out of Berrio for a majority of the fight and still get KTFO, Berrio can definitely punch. He doesn't do anything that great besides the power but Bute's defense can be a bit iffy at times.

I agree big time, I think when he focuses on offense OR defense he can be good at either,
It's that transition between the two that makes me wonder about him. If he gets
carried away with combos Berrio will catch him and hurt him.
That being said I like Bute and think if he gets some quality sparring in he can make some
big improvements still.

Never bought into this home town advantage crap tbh, the onyl time it really comes into play is if u need a home town hlp on the cards, other than that most boxers i have heard or spoken to all say when they get in the ring and the bell goes the crowd matters, doesnt matter how many or how few there are... they dont stop and think whos cheering for who or what not...
Re: Alejandro Berrio v Lucian Bute for IBF super-middle title
I think this is gonna be a great fight, dont count out Berrio, he may kiss Bute goodnight, and put him to sleep. I give Berrio much props hes not only fighting a worthy mandatory, but hes going to his hometown.

Yeah....giving Stieglitz a KO in Germany was an exceptional performance...especially considering he was a big underdog at the time. I think the odds would favour a stoppage finish one way or the other, cause they can both bang pretty hard.

I hope the winner can fight Carl Froch! now that would acctually be a fight O0

Yeah, much more likely to happen than Froch against one of the main two. Need to see Froch against a top ten fighter soon or he'll get too old.

After he knocks Reid out you will see him against a top 10 fighter.
