Hey, anybody want a Seagull?
I have a British Seagull outboard motor that I've been asked to sell for a relative.
Its a Silver Century Plus w/clutch drive.
Produced & purchased in 1975.
He bought it new in London & passed away before he could even mount it on his boat.
His wife said it was started once in a bucket of water, & has been garaged for 32 years.
I figure its probably more of a collectors item.
I wish it was a 1975 virgin Marshall Amplifier!!!
I'd fucking know what to do with it!!!
:thumb:
Anywhooo, do any of you Brits know tales of a Captain O.M. Watts, 45 Albemarle Street, Piccadilly London, W1X 4BJ ?
Thats who it was purchased from.
It is kinda interesting for me to ask this, I feel like I know alot of you guys over there, & maybe you can help me to find Seagull enthusiasts.
I feel kinda naughty asking this on our boxing forum, but I've paid my dues, Saddo likes me & I dont' think he'll mind.
Thanks~

Maybe it is, & maybe it IS!!!
erps. :-\
:D How you been Taansend?
I still have your gift of my apparent hero, "Dog" on my myspace page.
No, actually that isn't what that little motor is for.
If it was, it would have started considerably more than one time since '75.
:jerk: <---<< (BTW, that is one of the original SaddoBoxing Smilies) :)

Hahaha!!
Good question.
I have all this paperwork with it & I can't find anywhere that speaks of horsepower!!!
I can find out through one of these websites I've found...
There seems to be a fraternity of enthusiasts for these motors.
http://www.britishseagullparts.com/index.htm / www.seagullparts.co.uk / www.seabeeoutboard.co.uk / www.beachfishing.org.uk
The guy who runs one of those sites said told me he figured the thing should be worth $500 - $1000, considering the year & 'virginity' of it!!!
A lot of money for what it appears to be, to me.
I just equate the value of it to what I know about the value of a Gibson Les Paul.
A collectors item guitar wouldn't be played on stage.
Too valuable & too much risk.
A workhorse stage guitar would cost much less.
I'm kinda just trying to find out what people know about it so I can know what I'm dealing with.
Thanks Preme. ;)

Re: Hey, anybody want a Seagull?
I'm good mate. Enjoying the summer in SD. Lovely weather. I am a beach bum now, rather than just a bum, as I was before.
How's Ohio? Have you listened to my friend Maurice Jovan yet. He's a morning DJ there on some Columbus radio station...
Funny guy..

A one time offer, as it were... :)
If it pays well enough to keep me in aforementioned beverages & acommendations.
